certified payroll professional never heard of it

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

LOL…the irony is that payroll managers are paid about the same as a CPA with similar years experience. At least in the DC area.

Congrats on passing! I think it's odd to try to compare one to the other (CP”A” vs CP”P”) but once you've done both you'll have to let us know how they stack up to each other.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

I passed a few years ago…I was too lazy at the time to take the CPA exam so I opted for something that almost looked like CPA. Sad but true. Was just wondering if there were any other wannabee CPAs that took this route too.

The only things in common are the pay, the fact that you need CE credits to maintain the certification, and prior work experience. It's strictly payroll accounting and HR crap. If you put in a focused month of studying it shouldn't be nearly as difficult although I barely passed and thought I was over prepared.
