I took my last test earlier this month. I left the test feeling like I did well. I felt like I for sure did well enought to pass. Now, 2 weeks later, I’m beginning to wonder if I failed… Is anybody else psyching themselve’s out?

I feel the same way. Took AUD 1/19 and came out feeling positive. As we get closer to score release, I find myself worrying about my actual score.

    B - 80 (Aug 2012)
    A - 89 (Jan 2013)
    F - 77 (May 2013)
    R - 83 (Nov 2013)

For the long waits, I go through phases. Right after, I think its 50/50 chance of passing… then a couple weeks in, I think Yeah I passed that! Then when it get real close to score release, I think I failed. Oh the Psycology of a CPA candidate.

I left REG positive I failed. A few days later, I felt better. This week, I'm thinking I got in the low 70s and just barely failed. Oh, the wait.

    R - 87 (1/2013)
    A - 92 (2/2013)
    B - 90 (4/2013)

I'm in that area where I “think I failed” but in reality if I truly did fail I am going to be really disappointed and pissed off, lol.

So so worried especially when you have an expiring part on the line. *sigh…this is intense. I hate this feeling.

Came out thinking I was probably ok… then convinced I failed, had a few days back in the “did ok” range, now back to failed for sure and looking at calendar for a repeat.

    AUD: 84
    REG: 84
    BEC: 79
    FAR: 83

Really wish they would at least give you an immediate score on your MCQ….I guess due to partial credit I can see why they don't on the SIMs but damn that computer knows how you did on your MCQs weeks before you do….just not fair…

For sure- I psych myself out on every test. After all three so far, I first thought I had no idea, then I was convinced I passed, and then sure I failed. It goes through this cycle over and over again, getting worse as score release approaches.

If you asked me if I passed once every hour today, you would probably get a different response every time 🙂

I never felt better leaving a test, as I did leaving my REG retake. I walked out with a smile and a feeling that I passed. I'm super nervous now that I'll be one of those people who felt like they did well and failed! It's so sad to wait in excitement for your score and then get a failing grade.

@flipacoin…what's the partial credit on Mc's about? Is that true?

    BEC 10/13 PASSED 77

    FAR 08/12 PASSED 76

They don't give you an immediate score because they don't know what your score is until the end of the scoring period (20 days). This is because they must factor other candidates' responses into the weighting/scoring of each question.

As for the partial credit for MCQ… it isn't exactly clear from the AICPA's description. “The total reported score is a scaled value that takes into account both the response to and the statistical characteristics of each question administered” (aicpa.org). This could be interpreted to mean the “statistical characteristics” of the question may grant you partial credit even if you gave the wrong answer.

I left my test on 1/10 positive I failed. As days went on, I slowly convinced myself that just maybe I got a 75. The more I think about it, I think about how easy it would be to get like a 73 and fail. Just praying for a 75 come score day!

    FAR- 80 (10/27/12)
    REG- 89 (01/10/13)
    BEC- 84 (02/28/13)
    AUD- 87 (04/12/13)

    R - 87 (1/2013)
    A - 92 (2/2013)
    B - 90 (4/2013)

    DONE!
