Do you wish you studied AUD before starting your first year? I’m. Going to start without prior audit experience so I’m wondering if it will help me a lot or if it’s not relevant to what I will be doing as a first year anyways?

It usually goes the other direction– the audit experience helps you pass AUD.

I agree, auditing helped me pass AUD.

I don't really think AUD would have helped as a first year. Second year into 3rd year, maybe.

You're really not expected to be able to do much as a first year other than follow directions. Everything you're asked to do should be explained and/or you should have prior year work (which should be well documented as to what you're doing, why you're doing it, and how to do it).

If you want to be a good first year audit associate you're better off learning Excel inside and out and learn what “ticking and flicking” means.

Also, a good way to prepare would be to blankly stare at a computer screen for 12 hours a day. If you can do that without thinking for 6 straight days, you'll make one hell of an associate.
