After taking FAR for the first time and getting a 72, I haven’t been so great about re-studying. I can come up with lots of excuses, but it’s in the past and that time is gone.

So here’s my conundrum. I’ve picked up studying again, and I”ll be ready to re-take FAR in early July. July 8th would be the earliest after getting through month end at work. I have a NTS for AUD that is set to expire on Aug 28. At this point I have not requested a new NTS for the FAR re-take. After taking FAR in July I would only have 6 weeks for real studying (7 weeks, but one of those weeks I’m traveling for work). AUD wasn’t my strong point in school and its been a number of years since I’ve been exposed to AUD material.

Would you skip the FAR re-take for now, and switch to AUD? That would give me 10 weeks, as well as a long holiday weekend (No major plans for the 4th and work is closing for the 3rd and 4th).

FAR - 73, rematch in early April
    AUD - 5/14
    REG - 8/14
    BEC - 11/14

I'd go with what's fresh in your mind. Retake FAR! you are so close to getting that passing grade, I would then move onto AUDIT at the end of the quarter and do your best. Worst ccase scenario, you retake at beginning of Q4.

    BEC-84
    FAR-86
    AUD-87
    REG-79

I heard from several people that it's best to take FAR before AUD because the material interrelates. Another reason to retake FAR first is because your mind is focused on numbers right now. AUD is mostly word questions so you mind would have to switch from words and then to numbers if you take FAR second.

If you haven't done so, then read Faye's blog which was posted today.

100% retake FAR! You should stick with it while it is fresh. Also, if you use Becker and stick to their study plan, do 2 chapters a week for 3weeks and then give yourself the recommended 2 weeks for review, that's 5 weeks and you say you have 6 real weeks, you've got plenty of time to do both, knock them out!!!! Good luck!

    FAR 66 (07/01/13), 75! (10/01/13)
    AUD 64 (08/12/13), 80! (11/23/13)
    BEC 84! (05/22/14)
    REG 77! (08/28/14)
    DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna retake FAR early Jul as well and take REG end of aug. Do FAR in jul, you can definitely pass AUD in 6 weeks, that's probably the average study time anyways, people do it in 4 or 5.

    AUD - 75 ☺
    FAR - 65, 71, 70, 77 ☺
    BEC - 80 ☺
    REG - 73, 66, 79 ☺ 2/28/15

    Done!

Thanks for the linking Faye's blog post – sounds like she and I are in a similar spot!

And thanks everyone for weighing in. I'll keep chugging with FAR. I feel pretty close to ready (concepts I struggled with before are sticking better this time). I'm bummed I waited and can't sit for it in June!

    Definitely retake FAR.

When I was working on the exam I passed REG and moved onto FAR. After I took FAR, I gave myself a few days off then started studying for AUD. About a week into AUD I found out I failed FAR with a 74. I immediately switched back to FAR while it was still fresh in my mind. I ended up only improving my score by 3 points (I blame that on the fact that it was busy season), but I was happy I went right back to it. I only had to do intensive review rather than starting from scratch and that definitely helped.

Once I took my FAR re-take I went right back to AUD and took that exam 3 weeks later (still busy season and only getting busier so I couldn't push it back more). Only got a 76, but a pass is a pass. I think 6+ weeks would be ok even if audit wasn't your strong point in school.

Retake FAR. Don't let your previous study time go to a waste.

Regarding motivation, once you pass that first exam, it's a huge motivation booster to finish these exams and start enjoying life again.
