    Hi everyone

I was sondering how the Yeagar audio was in comparison to the video lectures as review material for the

CPA exam. I definately want to get Jeff’s audio as I have heard so many good things about it but I like

Yeagar’s course also and wanted some insight on that.

So basically what I want to know is has anyone used Yeagar audio and how did it measure up

    in your opinion.

    Thanks

I got the Yaeger/Wiley audio for AUD a few months ago and was not impressed. The speaker kind of meandered around between the content and exam strategy. It definitely covered only the very basic concepts (which it covered well), but nothing technical. It was more of an introduction to the subject and would be good for those who haven't taken an auditing class.

Content aside, it was poorly edited. The speaker occasionally misspoke and then corrected himself, and the end of the first section was cut off.

I have not seen the Yaeger video course so I can't compare to that.

Thanks for the link Jeff and thanks for your comment OttoNeubauer. I am already sold on your audio Jeff and was looking into the one that Yeager provides. I was really in a situation where I feel like I need the lecture videos

but due to money constraints I will not be able to get it. So I was thinking the next best thing

would be the audio that some courses sell to substitute for the videos.

I don't know if any audio can be substituted for what you learn in the lecture videos but I am

willing to give it a try to avoid spending more money.

It sounds like Phil was narrating the Yaeger audio, from what I can tell. He does the same thing in the videos.

Jeff, your Audio was great. It helped me with a few questions where I heard your voice in my head saying a part of the audio that had the answer I need for a particular question. Not on the actual exam, but during a study session. Nonetheless, the audio is definitley effective and probably the safest thing you can do to “study” while driving.

    Hi all.

I bought all 4 of the Wiley/Yeager audios.

In addition to everything OttoNeubauer said, the volume is horrible. I'd turn it up to hear them talk, which is bad because when they realize the audio was down low, they'd turn it up without warning. I tried listening to them in the car, and on my computer; never with earphones, I'd be too scared of blowing out my ears.

The info is old. I bought the ‘2012 Impact Audios' last summer thinking I'd get up-to-date materials. They do ‘update' but they are quick updates after you listen to the main recordings, which were done in 2008 or 2009 (it's been a few months since I last listened to them). For me, it made it difficult to remember which parts I needed to remember and what info had changed.

Phil had oral surgery a few days before recording the main content; which he reminds you of constantly. FYI: He and Cindy take turns teaching FAR, BEC & REG; Gary does AUD.

As far as the content, from what I could tell I felt like they gave a lot of information (but this was also before I bought Roger, and haven't listened to them since. I tried turning on FAR the other day, just to see if I could follow it better, but they annoyed me so I switched back to Ninja).

However, they make it clear it is not a stand alone course. And you are not to listen to it while driving a car. Both of which were the reasons I wanted bought the Wiley/Yeager audio course to begin with, so it was waste of my money.

I had all 4 sections of the Yaeger audio and did not use them. It just felt like it was a summed up version of the video lectures. I also had a hard time listening to Cindi do the video lectures so for me to listen to her audio would of been torture. But that is just me:)

Thanks for all the helpful info liss_ will_be_a_CA_CPA

and jeshan312. I guess I will have to resort to trying a cram

course to substitute for the longer and more expensive

videos and use the Wiley books and test bank. I also am going to purchase

Jeff's audio and notes. Thanks for the help!
