Okay… so I’m a long time lurker and recently a full time stalker (waiting for scores does that to you!). I took REG 2/21/13 and left feeling, like okay I feel like I knew most of it. Even the Sims were manageable (got 2 Research). So I frieked out because as far as I know if you left the testing center feeling like that you fail. I’ve seen it all over another71 and my two friends/study partners both had that experience, both with REG and one also with AUD. With FAR I left totally unsure and AUD I thought I failed, seriously. I passed both. So I was really really shocked to see I got 85 on REG (my highest score so far). I mean don’t get me wrong I was deliriously happy because I did study really hard. I work full time, have two babies (2yrs and almost 1yr) a husband who’s a full time student etc. I study at night for about 2-3 hours, so it takes me like 6 months to study for each test. So I was already breaking down because I thought I failed. Immediately after my test I checked all over the internet and a71 to see if anyone had this experience and it seems like most who thought they did well, failed. There were a few exceptions but very few.

Anyone else had this experience? I want to encourage others who felt this way not to lose hope!

    FAR -2/12 82
    AUD -8/12 84
    REG -2/13 85
    BEC -5/13 86

Congrats! I'm very glad to hear this. I, too, have noticed that hardly anyone who thinks he/she did well ends up passing. I will let you know when I get my score.

Thanks for sharing. I have hope! 🙂

    CPA exam: Done!

    Thank You, Lord.

I'm always surprised at how Moms with a husband and kids maange to pass these exams. These are seriously one of the hardest exams in the country. So bravo to you and your scores look amazing. They arent even borderline to passing.

I actually recall my first time taking Auditing. I thought I hit a home run. I was smiling ear to ear as I left the testing center. And it was the day right before Thanksgiving too. SO I had a good meal waiting. Usually I am very nervous about getting my scores back. I usually have to muster up the courage to go on the site. This time I was like: Did I get a 80 or a 90?

I checked it and it said I got a 69. Not even close to passing! I just sat there looking at the screen, at the missing “credit”. I remember I lost so much energy that night. I even wrote out an angry letter to myself which I still have saved on this computer.

In fact that letter might have helped me pass the rest of my exams. I wrote about how there will be an “end”. One day I will have all four exams passed and I will look back at this moment and how I overcame this pain. Last night I found out I got a 81 in BEC and I've passed all 4 exams!

The second time I took Auditing, I felt the same as I did before. But I didnt let anyone know how good I felt. And I ended up with a 84.

    FAR-81!!
    AUD-69, Retake: 84!!
    REG-86!!
    BEC-81!!
    Education- Done
    Ethics- August 2013
Experience- 7 Months of CPA Experience and counting!

I felt the same way after taking REG a couple of weeks ago. I felt like I was unprepared going into the exam simply because there was so much information. As the exam began, I felt like I knew pretty much every multiple choice question so I figured by the time I got to the SIMS that they would be ridiculously difficult but they ended up being pretty straightforward as well. I kept studying a lot of the difficult concepts of REG but felt that I was actually tested on a lot of the more general concepts that I work with every day. I left feeling like I probably got a score in the 90's, which kinda scared me since I also noticed that most people on here who feel that they did well ended up failing. I ended up getting a 93 so you definitely can feel good leaving the testing center and get a passing grade.

I hate to say this but I think it's a crapshoot. My first test was FAR, and I studied so hard and knew everything backward and forward. I sat for the exam and timed out of the sims…I only completed 2 1/2 sims!?! I was literally bawling as I left the test center. I felt horrible for weeks expecting a 50 or even lower. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a 78! A 78 with only 2 1/2 completed sims!? Crazy. Next exam was audit and I knew I hit it out of the ballpark. Studied hard and felt awesome during the entire exam…received a 93. Last exam, BEC…just took it in February and felt good leaving the test center. I definitely had medium, hard, hard testlets but felt confident with my answers. I got my score today and couldn't believe I only received a 73. I am beside myself with disappointment. I am a wife and mother to 2 kids as well and it just kills me to take more time away from my family to re-study BEC. Ugh…what are you gonna do? Back to the books I go…
