    Hi eveyone

I hope you all guys do well on this exam.

This is my first post in this great forum.

I have just finished my terrible REG section and I want to know that

am I able to apply for the REG section again even if my NTS ends in the end of August?

I mean that can I apply to retake (by applying to a new NTS) the section before the end of August?

My question again is that can I apply to retake a particular section of the exam even if the NTS is still open?

    BEC 81
    FAR 91
    REG 89

Im not sure if I'm interpreting your question correctly.

If you take REG in May with your current NTS and fail (which you wont 😉 ), you can apply for a new NTS and take the exam in July or August.

    Done: 5/22/14

@Regina Your NTS is only good for one attempt. So, once you took REG, your REG NTS expired and the date no longer matters. If you need to retake, you'll have to apply for a new NTS and will have a fresh 6 months.

That is how I understand it, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep, you pay the $150 – $200 for an NTS for a section and you have 6 months to sit for that section. Once you sit for that section within 6 months that NTS is expired, or if you fail to sit within the 6 months the NTS will expire. If you sit for it within 6 months and fail, once you pay the retake fee you will receive a new NTS to sit for the retake within 6 months.

The length of time that an NTS is valid is state specific. A Texas NTS is valid for 90 days (this may have changed when Texas became a NASBA state) and a LA NTS is valid for 9 months. I'm a little lost on your question and I fail to see how it is going to save your life. Not trying to be sarcastic here, just confused.

In Virginia the NTS is a year.:) However, I am not sure if the fact that I paid for all sections allows for a larger window to take the exam.

Your NTS expires either on the day you sit for the exam or on the expiration date. Because you used that NTS it is no longer open and if you've failed the section you can apply for a new NTS 48 hours after score release.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.
