does any on you think you have a bad memory but still could pass the FAR section? I have come to realize that it is all about having good memory, which is a somewhat inherited trait. For the questions that related to the concepts that I remember, I could finish the questions in less than 30 to 40 seconds. For others I would just go completely blank..starring at the screen and checking that darn timer at the lower left corner as each second passes by….

I think I have an inherently bad memory, but I know I can pass this exam. I just think it will take me longer to cover the material because it's a lot more than memorizing the formulas and acronyms. They will help get you through and recall info on exam day, sure. But I think for those of us with bad memories it is more crucial to master the material and really UNDERSTAND the concepts.

I agree with MCLKT. I personally have a pretty good memory, but the good thing about FAR (compared to some of the other sections like BEC) is it is really built around a unifying concept (the conceptual framework). What I found to be really helpful in learning the FAR concepts was relating everything to the framework ideas of revenue recognition, matching principle, conservatism, etc. It may not help with the specifics, but you can usually make a pretty educated guess about how a transaction should be treated by using the framework.

    BEC - 90 PASSED
    FAR - 84 PASSED
    AUD - 93 PASSED
    REG - 84 PASSED
