    2 Corinthians 5:21

Our value does not come from our skills and abilities, as good as they may be; it does not come from our GPA, our job, a promotion from that job to a better job, our success on the CPA exam, or anything of the like; but our value comes from the fact that we have a Creator who loves us, cares for us, and desires to help us navigate the rough waters of this life in a way that provides security, hope, and true, everlasting joy while we anticipate the life to come, with Him.

You get no points for leaving an answer blank.

You run out of time, so you put in 0 for all the numerical fields. 0 is a pretty good “pulling it out of my ass” answer. Having an answer of 0 is better than leaving it blank.

    BEC - PASS (79)
    AUD - PASS (63, 71, 74, 74, 83)
    REG - PASS (88)
    FAR - PASS (58, 89)

If you don't know the answer, you are better off putting a zero vs. leaving it blank or guessing at “X” number.

Sometimes, the correct answer actually is 0. For example, you may be given a list of transactions and asked to identify how much revenue should be recognized in each case. If there should not be ANY revenue recognized for one or more of them, you would enter zeros. Sometimes you'll be asked to create journal entries for certain transactions, some of which may not require an entry. In those cases, the instructions may tell you to select “No entry required” and enter zeros in the spaces for dollar values.

If you don't have time to work the problems, better to enter 0s and, by chance, get some of them right than to leave them blank and definitely get them wrong. Same goes for making random selections from drop down menus when you are running out of time. Never leave something completely blank.

Some questions ask for you to enter a zero as part of the response, so you're guessing and hoping that that is in fact the case on some of the questions in front of you.

    REG- (1) 76
    FAR- (2) 64, (5)74, (7)83 (Over achiever!)
    AUD- (3) 70, (4) 75
    BEC- (6) 75

Just took FAR today, I made sure I read the Sim questions thoroughly including how to input your answers. Only in one it told me to put zero in the box, the others just said not all lines may be used… and positive for debits and negative for credits… therefore, I didn't input zeros on the lines which weren't used, nor did I put zeros in the credit or debit side which weren't used. I've read many others thoughts on this same topic, and I've decided to do only what it specifically asks me to do.

Today, I became a cool kid.

    AUD - Passed
    REG - Passed
    BEC - Passed
    FAR - Passed
