The CPA Exam Weekly series has been anything but weekly lately. Last Friday, I physically could not write a post due to a log jam out there on the internet(s). Any other WordPress people using a proxy to write posts? It sucks, but I’ll make due. I even have to manually code my HTML…how old school. Enough of that…

Around the world of accounting…

Site News

I will be attending a meeting with the AICPA in NYC this week as they tell the CPA Exam review companies what the 2010 CPA Exam will look like. I will give you a first-hand account of what they have to say about upcoming changes to the Exam.

-50 Things You Must Know About the CPA Exam has done well so far and people seem to like it.

-Club 75 has over 30 members now. It has a different type of discussion than what is on this site. It’s a rolling discussion about various topics via e-mail and people can get immediate advice from a variety of perspectives. Oh yeah – and no one is rude :)

Also – for the time being, I have made my FAR and REG (tax only) notes available for free to anyone who subscribes.

Have a good weekend. I’ll let everyone know how next week’s meeting goes and what you can look forward to on the 2010 CPA Exam.

The CPA Exam Weekly series went on hiatus (after one pilot episode) so that I could work on my book.

Here are some items of note that I saved over the past month:

Now that my book is done, I will begin working on an even bigger project. Details to come – hopefully within the next month.

As always, thanks for reading.

CPA Exam News:

  • I expect BEC scores to roll out this weekend. Stay up to date by tracking the comments about CPA Exam Scores.
  • Follow score updates on Twitter. It will be the first place I post info to if I’m away from my computer and get an e-mail on my phone.
  • I’ve had questions from people wanting to buy the Yaeger CPA Review combo packs (HomeStudy + CRAM DVD + Audios) and wanting to know how to apply the CPA Review Discounts. The answer is to buy the combo and use either the “another71” code at checkout if you’re buying all four parts or the “1part2go” code at checkout if you’re buying a single section. The discount that you get on the crams/audios with the combo is better than what you get through this site. However, the discount on the HomeStudy from my site is much better.
  • I hope to release my e-book next week. I’m excited to get it in the hands of candidates. Stay tuned for details…
