A message from Phil Yaeger of Yaeger CPA Review:
We first met Jeff in mid-2008 when he was trying to pass BEC and looking for help after three unsuccessful attempts. While ordering our BEC Audio Cram product, he mentioned that he had a blog that we should take a look at sometime. While reading this site, we realized that Jeff was writing about the very same things that we hear from candidates on a daily basis: candidates are struggling with the exam and they think that they must be the only ones out there who feel that way. People talk openly about passing the exam in their first try. People don’t talk openly about the fact that they are struggling and to make matters worse, they’ve already spent thousands of dollars on review materials with little to show for it and they want to know if we can help.
We like Jeff’s transparency and honesty about his exam scores and struggles along the way. We think that he’s doing a good thing by providing this resource to candidates and are proud to be associated with his blog. We decided to provide candidates who read this site exclusive discounts on our review materials. The discounts on this site are even better than what we offer large accounting firms who buy our product.
I believe that we offer the best review course in the industry because we have the best instructors with industry-leading credentials and we offer the best service. If you pick up the phone and call our company, you talk to me – not a customer service representative who knows nothing about accounting, let alone the CPA Exam. If you are struggling with a topic on the exam and you’re a Yaeger student, you can call me and I will work with you until you understand it. No other review company gives you direct access to the owner of the company as well as his team of instructors whenever you need it. That is the Yaeger difference.
With the discount codes that we have provided the readers of Jeff’s blog, the best review course in the industry is also the most affordable review course in the industry. As Jeff will tell you, he struggled with the exam for two years until he bought our products and then he PASSED the CPA Exam. I am confident that we can do the same for you.
Call me – I’m always here to help,
Phil Yaeger, CPA, CFP, MBA, PhD

I graduated from college a while ago. My Fare is expiring at the end of May, so I must take the test. The problem is I do not remember much from college and I did not do well in does related classes. I pretty much have to learn everything from the beginning such as debits and credits. I currently have the wiley book and gleim software. I feel that I need some guidance to learn the material. What would you suggest for someone like me? A full study review course or cram course since I do not have much time left?
I’m assuming that you meant that your NTS is expiring in May? I had that happen once to BEC and REG and I took them both without studying (69 and 71).
Financial is a miserable beast. If I were in your shoes, I would buy the FAR complete course – especially since you say that you don’t remember much of the material from college.
Let me put it this way: If I fail either REG or BEC, I have to re-take FAR because my 18 months expires at the end of April for FAR. I work in accounting every day and I will be buying the full Yaeger course and not using the CRAM. I’m using the CRAM for REG because I took it in January and scored a 74. I passed FAR 18 months ago and there’s stuff on there that I haven’t touched since I took the exam (pensions/gov’t, etc).
Since you’ve purchased a course previously, Yaeger will let you use the discount code described above.
You have ONE MONTH – order it today and work, work work.
Good luck!
Thank you for the discounts! I just used one of them
Has this offer expired, yet?
Has this offer expired, yet?
As far as I know…I haven’t heard otherwise from Yaeger.
I’ve gotten e-mails from people who used the discount codes and passed their sections with it. Good stuff.

The 2010 CPA Exam is in full swing and candidates are neck-deep in their CPA Review courses trying to fit in another exam in a shortened testing month.
Dates and news that candidates should know:

The Wave 1 CPA Exam score release is always my favorite because I average 50% accuracy on naming the exact date NASBA will release CPA Exam scores.
On the other hand, I am terrible at Wave 2 CPA Exam score release predictions – mostly because the AICPA can be very unpredictable in Wave 2.
It’s early January, [...]
Ten random stupid things said to candidates while studying for the CPA Exam:
I found out that I had failed FAR by 1 point and BEC by 2 (double ugh!). My boss offered to let me go back down to part time for the next two months while I study and retake the exams.

My interview with the AICPA titled “CPA Exam Myths Debunked” is featured in the September 2009 issue of “The Asset” magazine, which is published by the Missouri Society of CPAs.
The staff at The Asset did a great job incorporating the article into the publication.

Failing the CPA Exam is normal, but frustrating.

There were two people who asked about this in the REG discussion for this month, and I found it worthy of a post. Time management on the CPA Exam is critical for REG and FAR. AUD and BEC? – not as much.
REG is probably the worst exam in terms of time management. They only give [...]
I knew coming out of the exam that I had passed, but I didn’t expect this. I’m paranoid so I’m whiting out my info until I have my certificate in hand.
