NINJA CPA Review

Meg is a new NINJA CPA Blogger.

I am VERY slowly approaching the dramatic “official adult” age of 30. I am currently 29 and three-sevenths.

I have been sitting on this accounting plan for a few years now…and all of a sudden it dawned on me…holy cow I am almost officially a full-fledged adult. I won’t have the excuse of being “silly in my twenties” for much longer and need to ‘pony up’ and tackle this beast they call the CPA.

I always meant to study before…would schedule my tests and continue to push them back until my NTS would expire. Last February I stood up Prometric and never showed up for FAR. I didn’t even send flowers.

I’ve decided that I am really going to enjoy being twenty-nine. I went to Ireland twice, a Bruce Springsteen concert and am always planning something ‘fabulous.’ Please read: I am always procrastinating. Finally, my best friend and husband told me I need to seriously get my life in check.

So I studied. I woke up at 4:20 am and went to bed at 10 pm for 5 weeks. I studied, and it turned out it wasn’t that bad. It was really enjoyable when something finally ‘clicked.’ Luckily, enough things clicked because I passed BEC in February. It wasn’t pretty, but I passed it.

Finally, it dawned on me, Stuart Smalley from SNL was right. “I am good enough, I’m smart enough and gosh darnit people like me.” You’re good enough, smart enough and gosh darnit, people LOVE YOU!! We can tackle this BEAST!!!
