AUDIT

Took Audit Section recently. Most of the MCQs are straight forward and a small %age of questions are not covered or not seen in the Becker Passmaster. If following Becker 2011 AUD Chap 3 & 4 are very important and every second question is from these topics. This is my third attempt and I cannot identify the easy or toughness in the 1, 2 & 3 testlets. While practicing MCQs, I learned most of the Audit subject from the wrong answers i.e. why a particular choice was wrong. This helped me in attempting about 20% of the questions because they framed the questions based on the wrong choices. I also followed Becker Final Review for Audit and there are about 20 practice simulations, which helped me for preparation of the Simulation part of the exam very well. I think about 3 simulations in the exam are more or less similar to these practice simulations. Only one research question and straight forward, within 2 minutes I nailed it. In the past my scores are 71, 72. I will be happy if I get >=75 and I am not surprised if I get 30, because in the past when I feel that did well I scored 74 twice in BEC. Thanks for the suggestions in this forum members and specially to Mrs. 300 & Mena Je Twa. Any Chartered Accountants here? and happy independence day.

For the 2011 version what is ch 3 & 4? For 2012 its Engagement Acceptance, Planning and Risk Assessment for 3, and Audit Evidence for 4.

Did you use anything else besides Becker such as Wiley?

REG: PASS || BEC: PASS || AUD: PASS || F: SCORE PENDING..

    YoungShil..

You are very welcome. We are here to help. No, i am not a chartered accountant from anywhere.

Lets wait and see how you score on your audit attempt. You are correct, 75% of audit is made up of planning, internal control, evidence, reports etc…

    Goodluck on your scores.

futuremdcpa : 3 & 4 Covers Audit Planning, Internal Contrls, Evidence and Cycles. Most of the time I stick on to the Becker and just for 1 day I used Wiley Test Bank to check the variation. You must know CRIME and emphasis on C&E. You should know PAIDTIPS / FIVE CARROT CARS / COVERU & TAP application to a situation.

    khyatee.

Both are different in their own ways. The material is the same , which ever way you decide to go, teaching style and presentation will be different.

It also depends on your background, how you learn, how much you want to spend.etc etc.

Give me some more details so i can help you further.

I kind of like yeager teaching style. Its more of indian style and easier to understand.

But i read it somewhere that yeager review course doesnt cover all the important topics in case of AUD.

    Is it so ??

@ Khyatee ~~ CPA Exam is administered based on the principles of Psychometric requirements i.e. they measure the knowledge, abilities, application, traits and other knowledge based measurements. I know how the indian style functions and works. I know many of the top rankers in the finance / accounting field from that style stumbled in the CPA Exam because the exam pattern is different and the score evaluation pattern is different. In simple terms this exam is knowledge based and not memory based. Therefore, you need to find out and choose which review covers the most of the CSO of the Exam. I follow becker for all 4 parts.

khyatee : I have not followed any other review courses except Becker and hence I do not know which one is better or which one has covered exhaustively. You can see the contents of the exam with specific %age weight in the following link:
