I am exactly 24 hours away from the Auditing portion of the CPA exam.

I honestly can say I know how Jack Bauer feels, as the time ticks down I feel like rushing but don’t want to mess up.

What did you guys do the day before the exam? Were any of you able to sleep? Did you guys do the Final Exam through Becker? Is it worth it?

Are we allowed to chew gum during the exam? They said no eating, is gum considered “eating”…

I studied right up until my exam, but keep it light. Just go back through and hit main points and areas of emphasis. You want to be building your confidence up about all the info you know, not worrying about what you might not remember etc.

As for the gum chewing, I have chewed gum during a couple of my exams. I wouldn't advertise it to the test center though, as I would imagine they would ask you to throw it out if they notice it. And be careful not to smack your gum or pop it in the test center, you don't want to disturb other test takers.

Review each chapter, memorizing the big main points of each chapter. do some problems…and besides that do what you think is right, i for one study until the wee hours of the morning the night b4 and some people done even study for 1-2 days b4…its whatever you like.

I usually try to conentrate on my weak areas the last 24 hours and I also get to the test center 1-2 hours prior to appointment and review. I just took REG yesterday and I decided to go through the Becker book from start to finish. Just a review of each chapter making sure I look at the highlighted sections and the notes that Becker wants you to write. If they said it is Heavy tested or you can count on this being on the exam, I was sure to do a quick read of the material. I can honestly say that I read something I highlighted the night before that ended up on the exam and would have never got it right if I had not read it. I definitely would not do a Becker practice final exam the day prior. Those should be taken at least a few days prior at the latest. For example I took one Becker practice final exams for REG on each of the last two Sunday. Good Luck!!

I was always able to sleep. I always did hit up a Starbucks near the test center 2-3 hours beforehand. Get myself good and coffee'd up. I tried to review weak areas. I'm not sure if that was necessarily any *more* of a help, but psychologically, it seemed to feel a bit better going into the exam “warmed up,” so to speak.
