    Hey Everyone,

My name is Tony. It's been over 6 months since I started studying AUD with Roger CPA. However, due to scheduling conflicts, I haven't been able to sit for the exam and will finally take the exam in February (exact date TBD). This is my first exam. I feel prepared for it and have been practicing more on the TBS lately.

This might be a dumb question but, does anyone know if the CPA's TBS are graded based on getting all questions/parts/items within correct or do you get credit for all the ones you got right also? (For example: in Roger CPA, for the TBS, even if you get 1 item out of 20 wrong, then the whole answer is wrong)

    Any feedback is much appreciated!

    Hello all,

I just took auditing in September and got a 72 and retook in beginning of December and got a 74 🙁
I plan on retaking in late January/early February. Any tips on passing? I seem to be stuck in the 72-74 range

Greetings! I am studying with ninja + Becker and taking the exam on 1/9. Does anyone have a list most helpful mnemonics for the Audit exam? my goal is to memorize them day of, get into the test, and scribble them down on the little sheets they hand you to assist with slam dunk vocab/memorization questions.

    Hi everyone,

I'm taking Audit in March of 2019…it'll be my second exam. I passed FAR in December 2018 and I'm still in shock to be honest. 🙂 I'm only using Gleim but I love their review system! Good luck everyone! 🙂

Hi Tony, yes, you get partial credit on the CPA Exam for TBS.
I use Roger CPA Review also.
I was able to pass FAR, REG, and BEC all in one window using it.
I was averaging 60-70% correct on Roger IPQ, and I felt like the actual CPA test questions were easier than the Roger questions.
I take AUD on Thursday, I actually studied more for this one than any other. I will let you know how it goes.

    Hi Msu1234,

Very grateful for the feedback. It's very helpful to know what others have been getting on the Roger IPQs. I feel more confident now for when I take AUD next month on 2/16. Also, glad to hear that you passed 75% of the CPA exam already and best of luck on your test on Thursday!

    Hi Everyone,

I'm Dan and taking Audit on the 18th. Im not sure if this is the right place to post questions but wondering if anyone can help out. Im using Becker and I am confused about the use of an explanatory paragraph when expressing a modified opinion due to the work of a specialist. The MCQs for Chapter 2.5 state that the auditor may make reference to a specialist in an emphasis paragraph when modifying an opinion. However, Chapter 1, module 7 seems to contradict that. There is a passkey on page A1-56 that states “…the additional language is used to highlight particular circumstances without modifying the opinion.”

So which is it? I thought that when modifying an opinion you would want to use a basis for opinion and not an emphasis or other matter paragraph?

Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

    Hi Dan,
You answer should be available for free on aicpa.
    Just Google AU-C 336
I don't know if maybe there's a difference between the aicpa and the pcaob, or if there's a difference between the client hiring the specialist or the auditor hiring The specialist in one of the items you're referencing (I don't use Becker)
But that is the actual aicpa standard, so hopefully you can find it in there.
I am sorry I don't have a better answer for you.

@MJ44 Everyone's study techniques are different, but this is the one that worked for me on my 3 exams including a retake. This helped me go from a 65 to a 86 on FAR. Note I am also a computer person so this might not work for everyone. For my retake, I did not read the book again. I would skim, and keep note of the important things. I had 3 word documents on my computer. One was for lists and different mnemonics that were listed. One was for reasons why I got M/C questions wrong, and some of the pass keys. The last was for helpful diagrams and example reports listed in the book. I would skim a module and write these down, then do the M/C for that section and write down wrong answers. I would repeat this over and over again until I got to the end of the section. At this point I would do the simulations, and mark down the simulations I struggled with to remind me to look at them again. After going through all the sections I would do the Mock Exams. After a mock exam I would look at what sections I struggled with. Then I would do a progress test on that section to see what exact modules I wasn't really understanding, and then would do the skills practice to help me understand. Then after all the mock exams were done, I would spend the last few days before the test just cranking out progress tests. These became my bread and butter for passing the tests. They are a great way to get a diverse group of questions just on the sections you are struggling in. For anyone else who is taking an exam for their first time this works too! I would just suggest reading the book a little more thoroughly. The biggest piece of advice I can give to anyone taking the test is that practicing the M/C is hands down the most important thing to do. This is how you engrave the material in your brain. I hope this all helps!
