    Hello all,

Can any of you pass along some AUD exam tips. I have a few friends who walked out quite confidently and did not pass the exam, which is making me very nervous.

I am using Becker and take the exam on Oct 10th. Any specific matter that I should focus on in these last two weeks.

    Thanks a lot!!

I studied for only two weeks (after having watched all the lectures back to back) and what I recommend is taking notes on every section of the becker book. Its a bit time consuming but since Audit is all theory the act of actually typing out shorter notes on the most important topics from the wordy book will make a great difference. I took five days to do this and turned the however many page becker book into 80 pages of typed notes. I read through the notes that I wrote two times before the exam, making notes on my type written pages, and I scored a 96 on it during July. The big thing to remember is this exam is nearly all theory, and chances are you won't touch the calculator function until possibly a simulation. Good luck.

I’d say that in these last two weeks just memorize everything Becker said was important and work as many multiple choice questions as possible. Don’t focus on practice simulations too much (look them over at most).

It worked for me, I just found out I passed. Good luck!

Thank you so much for all the tips.

BrandonPF – Congrats! Did you memorize all the different type of reports (opinions)?

    Anna – Good luck!

    nmm987 – Congrats and thanks!

I am starting full-time work the end of this month and am getting a little nervous trying to study along with it.

Thanks QCPA, this makes me feel more confident knowing that so many of you passed with Becker. I am definitely going to do MCQs repeatedly along with the supplementals.

I memorized the standard opinion and knew the important parts of the other opinions but did not memorize them verbatim.

I heard that memorizing the reports and the exceptions to the std report however it wasn't on my exam….

What's helped me on all sections is watching the lecture, reviewing the book and making my own outline of the chapter, doing each section of multiple choice questions atleast twice (3 if I didn't do well), resting the day before the exam and eating sushi and drinking one beer the night before the exam.

I wouldn't say memorize the reports but you should know when and why to issue the reports. Remember when doing your simulations to use your research tab for ALL info you are unsure about. If the answers are available under the research tab, those are gimmie points for you.

Dd1davis: Yes, I did it too especially for communication part. If will have enouph time ( I am sure you will) use the research tab for any info. Every point is counted!

The second time around, I made sure I knew all the types of reports and opinions, plus explanatory paragraphs inside and out. Also, really understand the concepts and theory. My first attempt, I had really funky sims, which proved to be my downfall – along with not leaving myself enough time to study afte taking FAR. I basically rewrote the entire Becker book into notes as BrandonPF suggested. Good luck to you!

    I used Becker's, and I just passed Audit with a 99!

Go through ALL multiple choice that Becker's gives you. Every time you miss one, write down in a pad of paper the explanation for the correct answer and why your answer was incorrect. Just before the exam, that pad is your best study guide.

Then go through some progress tests and simulated exams. They are basically a random selection of the same MC questions from the homework, but you should be more confident about what material you are strong in, and for any questions that you miss, keep writing down why. By the time you get to the exam, you should fear no MC questions.

I also went through every simulation just once, and wrote down a few notes when I missed things, but mostly it was to get a feel for the different kinds of sims. Once you understand each of the concepts well enough, you should be able to answer the sims correctly too.

    Good luck!

Did anyone think CPAreviewforfree.com was a good resource for the MCQ'S? I am taking audit this coming Saturday. How can i do my best not to bomb the simulations?
