Hello folks.. I just wrote my first CPA test (BEC) few days ago.. I have used Becker 2012, and I have been studying very hard in the past month – I watched all the videos, took good notes, and I did all the multiple questions and the simulations.. I got around 70-75% right on average, and I walked through most of the questions that I got wrong and that I flagged.. Plus I heard most people say that the real exam is a lot easier than the Becker questions, and the results is normally 10% higher than Becker simus.. So i kinda got my heart rested.. and I was confident..

HOWEVER>>>> at the exam, I found the first testlet was fairly easy, then the second testlet got SOOOOO DIFFICULT, I almost cried!!! I flagged almost half of the questions and I almost gave up on the second testlet… a lot of calculations that were not quite covered in the Becker lecture.. and I spent so much time going back and forth checking them! I thought the 3rd testlet is going to be even more difficult! But luckily.. the difficulty of 3rd testlet is between 1st one and 2nd one, so it is not bad.. Then I was only left 20 minutes for the WC!! AHHH!! Then I could hardly concentrate cause I had so little time, but I was still able to manage to write 2 of them fairly well..

I am wondering do the changes in difficulties among the testlets mean that I did well in 1st one, so the 2nd one got very difficult, and then I didn’t do well in 2nd one, so the 3rd one got easy??? And WHY I felt the real exam is so much more difficult than Becker?? Does it mean I failed it??? I am sooooooooo scared!!!

Anyone who has the similar experiences but ended up passing BEC??? There is still half a month to wait until the result is released.. I am so panic everyday… could anyone help?? I am so worried!!

You should probably edit the part about what you said was on exam, you said you wouldn't disclose exam info. The second testlet being harder is a good sign you did well on first testlet. You must haven't done great on second testlet to get back to easier testlet. It's not that alarming that'll you fail though. Hopefully you were able to BS the WC in a professional format with using the right words the computer was looking for. I did Becker questions in my studies for BEC and felt they were sufficient for the exam. Keep calm, it's out of your hands at this point. Did you write down questions to double check after you got out of the exam

I am just finger crossed now…I did not double check with the questions that I wasn't sure of.. cuz I was very panic.. and some of the choices were so vague that it's really hard to say which one is right and which one is wrong even in Becker text book!

I felt the same way walking out of BEC. Even though I passed BEC and failed REG, I still think BEC was the hardest exam I took out of the 4. Probably because the 2nd testlet had soo many calculation questions. I think I answered them all correctly but still. My 3rd testlet was easy so I thought I must have screwed up so badly on the 2nd one.

Don't worry. It sounds like a pass to me 🙂

I felt the same as you taking the exam. For me the first part was hard, a lot of computations. Second part was even harded with even more computations. The third part was a bit easier with less wording in the question and less computations. The writing portion 2 out of 3 were very hard and I had to basically make something out of nothing. Anyway, good news checked my scores yesterday and found out I passed with a 75 so I guess the majic worked!
