I'd say go over the newly released MCQ. Don't worry about the score. Just familiarize yourself.

From there, I would group the formulas together that are similar. Eg the ratios that have some elements that are the same. And just write them over a few times.

I would also sketch out the variance formulas and write underneath them the unit conversions.

I would pick maybe 5 MCQ that you really didn't understand at first and just go over the guided solution. Then explain it in your own words.

This is meant as review. You don't want to waste time trying to learn something you are still completely frustrated by.

Lastly, practice writing a brief explanation of one of these topics. Who cares if you forget one thing. Just take 30 minutes to write yourself a letter or memo explaining one of the main topics to be tested. Then pick through it. Go through your notes to see how you did.

COSO and ERM would be good to hit again before the exam.

I'm taking it on Saturday. From everything I've seen people say, definitely hit COSO, IT, and Variances. That's what I'll be concentrating on this week. Luckily, COSO and IT are my 2 strongest areas. Here's hoping I don't get hit with a ton of Econ, I'm terrible at it.

Wasn't horrible – I was glad to not see a ton of Econ. Very surprised by how much financial management I saw, especially in the SIMS. Completely unsurprised by the amount of COSO and IT. Here's hoping I pulled out a pass. Good luck today!!

Econ was missing from my exam as well. Disappointing as that was my most “natural” topic.

It's impossible to study too much for COSO. I had a WC on it and wasn't very well prepared. All in all, I'll be surprised to see a score less than 75, but it will be close.

@Tiramisu my SIMS felt rather easy. I finished both testlets in under an hour. Most of them were just reading an exhibit and picking multiple choice/dropdowns. 1 variance calculation that I only got 50% correct.

I'm a bit weary that I feel my test felt too easy, and I will not like my result. I can't imagine having a more fair BEC exam, which is funny because my first 2 MCQ were FAR questions and I thought I was in for a long test.

    How was your experience?

@Tiramisu I felt decent about the SIMS. I know I specifically guessed on 3 questions (1 part) of one of the SIMS, but they were drop-down choices so I guess I have like a 20% chance to get those right. But otherwise I felt like I had a good handle on what they were asking and how to solve the problems. I had plenty of time left to do the written part as well. Like Icarito, I'm a little concerned that I felt good coming out of it lol.

Also wanted to mention – my written questions were very simple and straightforward, which was a relief after all the calculations in the SIMS.

I took BEC second time yesterday. It was a test from hell.. first few questions were ok, all calculations. Then more calcs.. more calcs, very few word mcqs, some stuff they were asking to calculate i've never heard of those metrics.. i wanted to just cry its so frustrating. Second mcq was more word questions, still calcs though. Sims: one weird analysis with answer choices.. kinda easy or maybe i was just answering it wrong lol, rest were calcs 🙁 WC wasn't bad, i had about 15 mins for each and i thought i did ok on those.. kinda expecting another fail and prolonged depression/no life, etc…
