Everyone has different theories. I say go for FAR first.

    FAR: 81 (1/20) AUD: 88 (2/27) REG: 91 (4/19) BEC: 75 (5/20)

There is the “get the worst out of the way first” mentality or the “save the worst for last” mentality. I saved FAR for the last of my exams and don't regret it. What you learn about the test and how to judge/cope with it really helps when trying to get through FAR. There is a ton of good points to the “knock FAR out first” way too.

Personally, I liked the order I did. AUD, REG, BEC, and ending with FAR worked out well for me. AUD is all basic memorization, yet teaches you how the AICPA can take something simple and twist it in such a way you don't know up from down. REG brings in the calculations and quantity of material while still being mostly straight-forward. BEC can be pretty random. By the third test you have learned to deal with it better. FAR is just pain in a computerized test form. The quantity and randomness to how it can appear is frustrating. It would have freaked me out trying to deal with FAR first without knowing how the whole CPA exam thing flowed. I would have been terrified of the other sections after FAR.

I like Dale's approach. Mine was totally different BEC, FAR, AUD, REG, AUD. I started with BEC because I thought it'd be the easiest. I underestimated it, but passed. Then I took FAR, because I heard it was the hardest. My background is in financial accounting.  I took AUD next (failed) and then REG.  I didn't know this site existed until I was about to take my 4th exam, but I wish I had known and gotten a little input.

I take BEC first because I also think it would be the easiest. BEC as Dale said is straight forward, you can basically elimate 2 of the anwsers right away and them pick the most logical of the remaining two. If in doubt pick “C” for CPA.

    ACCA (London - CPA)
    CMA

    BEC(4/17)-90, REG(5/28)-88, AUD (7/11)-83, FAR (8/31)- 90

I think getting some momentum is important, then knocking out FAR. I did; Reg, Audit, FAR, and just took BEC this week. Audit was the easiest for me, and FAR was the hardest.

I tool FAR first until I passed. Then I took BEC and then REG. I will save AUD for last.

Take FAR or REG they are the hardest.  I would take Far then reg if you got the time to take them both in a row.  or if you want to finish fast like I'm trying to do take Far, bec, audit, reg thats due to time constraints if I had more time I would do FAR, REG, BEC, AUDIT.  audit was cake but we'll see what I got.

    FAR 81, BEC 75, AUDIT 92 ,Reg 88

FAR will be changing Jan 2011.  I would suggest getting it out of the way before the end of the year.

I agree – FAR or AUD should be first to avoid 2011 IFRS.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 76
    REG - 92

styleforum – I agree with Jeff, take BEC next then REG last. If you should fail AUD, I would re-take after BEC since I believe REG is suppose to have the fewest changes in 2011 should you not finish by year end. Don't underestimate BEC, I did and it almost cost me. Though it seems to be the easiest because it has no simulations, you need to give it the proper amount of study time.

    Good Luck!!

Take FAR first.  It covers the most material.  Take AUD second.  AUD is based on financial statements that are in FAR.  Take the harder of BEC or REG.  You may need extra time if you fail.  Take your easiest subject last.  This is what I would do if I could do it all over again.

If you love financial accounting, and if you have an auditor type personality, FAR and AUD will be your easiest subjects.  BEC and REG will be difficult to pass.  If you have a business type personality, BEC and REG will be your easiest subjects and AUD and FAR will bite your butt.

I did smae as you, FAR, then AUD, but then BEC. Flet BEC and FAR wouldve been better one-two punch.

    GO BEC
