    Hello,

I’m an Indiana resident who is looking to become exam eligible through the state of Illinois. I’m looking for advice on whether to do it or not. I’m only 3 credit hours from becoming eligible in Indiana, which I will obtain at the end of the Spring semester. I have an MBA, so I’m pretty sure I meet Illinois eligibility requirements right now. I’m weighing the option of submitting a pre-evaluation packet.

My rationale for wanting to go through another state is that I don’t want to pay $500 to complete the final 3 credit hours in Indiana (I’m using IU’s edX MS in Accounting platform). Also, I want to be eligible/study for the exam sooner than May to be finished before the final 2019 window closes. I’ve heard Illinois licensing rules are less strict that nearly every other state. Finally, does anyone know if I would be able to meet the experience requirement IN Indiana & not in Illinois? Also, what has been most candidates’ experience with getting hired in an accounting role to complete the experience requirement WITH only a certificate?

    Thank you.
