Hi Everyone. I’m in the process of updating my resume. I just passed the exam but am waiting on official certification from the state. What’s the most appropriate way to note this in my resume?

I’ve also never had to do an accounting resume before – I haven’t updated my resume since I’ve been a staff/senior accountant beginning 2+ years ago. I want to make sure my skillset and exposure to various aspects of the accounting functions is fully outlined somehow, beyond listing accomplishments, etc. Anyone know of any good online resources for tips?

    Thanks!

    Lisa

I assume you have fulfilled all requirements (experience/education) to obtain your license, right? If so, under the skills part maybe you could put ‘Passed all sections of CPA exam and awaiting official license (or licensure) from state' or maybe just ‘Awaiting official CPA license from state'? In my case, I have passed the exam but still have to fulfill the 1 year experience requirement so I put ‘CPA candidate: passed all sections of CPA exam' under the skills section at the bottom of my resume.

You're officially certified, but not yet registered or licensed.

    What I did was

Completed CPA Exams MONTH, YEAR (Registration pending)

I put (License Pending) after CPA Exam. I think License sounds better than Registration/certification pending. That's just me though, so take your pick.
