“The facts are ugly. The federal debt, which has averaged less than 40% of the total economy, now represents more than 60%. It’s likely to hit 100% in a little over a decade.” (from cnnfn.com)

Lets get someone in office who can budget and understands taxes!!!

I think this is very appropriate for the jobs forum, what about you??? Or maybe to many hours of mcq.

Heh. Sounds like a good break from studying!

I feel like it's a bit of everything: budgeting is really quite a crapshoot. (I'm in it!) It's a bit like playing SimCity or any of those tycoon games. There's certain fixed costs going on and revenues coming in, but any of those can start to spiral out of control, often in a bad way, and sometimes very suddenly, i.e. war or natural disaster. There's a lot of economics to consider, b/c a person will do what's most beneficial for him/her, so there's a lot of thought in how to create an incentive to get someone to do something, i.e. carrot or stick.

    I really can't pass again!

I'm studying for BEC right now, and when I saw “debt” and “40%” I automatically thought of a WACC question. Is that bad? ha .

    FAR - 81
    BEC - 73, 73, 79
    REG - 72, 75
    AUD - 72, 68, 82

    DONE!!!!

LOL so i work as a govt contract on an “audit readiness” program.. i dont think the president needs to be a cpa I think the people in government accounting should be… i think the government should have to pass audits just like corporate america but they dont even operate effectively nor do they follow GAAP…
