Not sure if anyone would be interested in doing this, but I figured it may be fun to pass the time…I work Big 4, so for all I know someone on this forum that I see post regularly could be sitting on the same client as me a cubicle over or something!

Nobody seems to really post any detail on who their employer is or what office they are out of. I can’t imagine that it’s really that private of information as it’s on my facebook profile, I recruit at colleges, and hand out business cards. Friends of friends know where I work…

    …so, here – I’ll start it off.

I am with EY and work in the Detroit location in the Advisory practice.

EDIT – I am a Senior 1…had three years govt experience prior to going Big 4 and came in as Staff 2.

Spent 3 years at KPMG in mid-west. Now at a super-regional…would be a senior 2 if it weren't for this dumb CPA exam. Still a “heavy staff”….I really hate that term!!

I'm at a big 4 financial services tax practice in the northeast. I like my job, but I'm not sure if I could do tax for the next 30-40 years. Down the line I think I want to move into a finance type role. Any advice on how to make this transition? When?

Wow, a lot of accountants here…..lol

I work for D.R. Horton, a national home builder. I do financial analysis for land acquisition and development work. This involves some cost accounting-type of work, but less true accounting work than one might expect.
