    Hey Everyone,

Just a little background before I ask my question – I’m in audit at a large regional firm (top 20). Associate, 1 full busy season under by belt but 2 full years of experience in total (started at another firm, came in late to my first busy season so I missed the majority of it).

So I just got by YE review back and it indicated I’m behind the curve in compared to my peers. Not behind by much, behind nonetheless. My feedback throughout busy season was solid, no cause for concern, I was leading audits like an in-charge, ect. So when I got my YE review back I was shocked.

Before I got my review back I met with my “coach” and asked how my roundtables went – literally didn’t mention anything bad at all. Also, about midway through busy season I had a conversation with the OMP where she mentioned that at the last semi-annual roundtable I was labeled as “leading” (i.e. better than average). That was before all my feedback for busy season engagements came back, which indicated the same.

So now im incredibly confused and slightly freaking out – I hear this is what happens when people are about to get fired, they get a bad review and the firm says they are not keeping up with their peers ect.

What do I do? I already asked my coach about roundtables and nothing – promotions occur in September so I suppose I still have time before I hear the final word on what all this means. I guess I would just like to know before then so I can prepare myself.

Should I start looking for a new job? I had a recruiter at a B4 reach out to me… thinking about pursuing it but I hate switching jobs.

Please, any perspective on this is appreciated
