I am IT auditor, so I rarely get exposure to Business stuff although I work with business auditors on actuarial, finance, and sometimes investment areas. I do not want to be a CPA without business knowledge, so what I thought of is Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA) offered by IIA.

Basically it covers basic knowledge about internal auditing (lighter touch than CIA), but required to choose one of three Financial Services areas: Bank, Insurance, and Securities for the exam. I will probably go for Insurance as my employer is an Insurance company, and I will move to the Insurance IT audit team next year.

Maybe not many people heard of CFSA. True, it is not common certificate like CIA. But it would be worth studying for it in my situation because I am new to business world.

Is there anyone studying/had studied for CFSA?

    Currently:
    CPA - Class of 2013
    ALMI (Associate, Life Management Institute)
CISA - Passed in 2011, Certified in 2014

    In Progress:
ASA (Associate of Society of Actuaries) - EXAM P (O), EXAM FM (O), EXAM MFE (X), EXAM MLC (X), EXAM C (X)
