Anyone here sit for the CFA’s new Claritis Investment Certificate exam or planning to? My employer will pay the prep and exam costs so I figure might as well give it a shot. Of course, that’s pending on whether I pass BEC or not.

    FAR 75
    AUD 74, 82
    REG 58, 74, 83
    BEC 68, 75
    Licensed 7.1.14!!!

Ironically I heard about that and before I made the leap of CPA faith I was debating it. I asked a few colleagues and no one heard of it. A friend of mine is a Fund Accountant and was told she needs to take Claritis Investment Certificate rather than the CPA because it is more in line with the business. That to me was a head scratcher but she completed it and working on her CPA. I do not think it is a bad thing because it shows you have a good general understanding of finance back office work. Knowledge never hurts.

    rudy201, thanks for your input!

I find it amusing the CFA Institute estimates it'll take 6 months to prepare for the exam. I took a sample test several months ago and the questions are fairly easy so I doubt I'll need 6 months for review. A huge plus is you get a preliminary score right after you're done with the test.

    BEC 68, 75
