So for those who wondered, it didn't work. lol I caught no glimpse of an accidental slip of my 8/25 score. Now I'm almost absentmindedly finding myself trying to check every day until the 25th

little late here but passed BEC with and 86 and now I'm done. The studying was horrible and the exams themselves were a nightmare but honestly the waiting for the scores was the worst part especially when NASBA delayed the 6/19 release and then I had to wait to find out I failed my first BEC attempt with a 65. Took years off my life. But definitely worth the pain now that I've passed.

btw Mike Potenza from Becker GOAT skill master person

Congrats @cricket, it is a great feeling to be done.

    @bmj2s
, I know the feeling. I used to do the same. It will be here before you know it. But I know that won’t stop you from checking constantly “just in case”.

The question I'm pondering now is if I should go ahead and try signing up for the state ethics exam in TN while waiting on the score to post. Currently been re-writing the ninja notes to get prepped for more mcq practice just in case my trend of fail one – pass retake happens. lol

@Bmj2s Tennessee doesn’t say within what timeframe ethics has to be passed so go for it if you want to. I would keep studying until score release and I know if I am done or not. But hey, that's just me. Buy it through here, so much cheaper than AICPA or even my state society’s discount. https://www.tscpa.com/cpe/events/054186JJS:professional-ethics-aicpas-comprehensive-self-study-course-exam?group=on_demand_events

@monikernc I know right? I remembered seeing it for like $200 or something once, but that must've been on the AICPA website. I saw the 125.00 this morning and thought hell yeah! lol

    Dima,

DM them on Twitter or message them on FB Messenger. They are looking into my score.

@Dylan, Thanks, I just sent them an email. I tried to DM them on twitter but doesn't seem like the @NASBA is accepting messages.

    Dima,

I meant CBA not NASBA. Maybe I will message NASBA as well.

I sent a FB message to CBA but did not get an answer.

Are you guys having any luck?

CBA hasn’t confirmed anything because apparently the issue is with NASBA. The rep for CBA on FB and Twitter is telling me that the commonality among all the non-release scores is that everybody took the exam on the 23rd. No confirmation yet from NASBA.

I got an email from NASBA saying the score release is within the August 7th release window and will take up to a week. Guess just need to stay patient and hope for the best.

    Dima,

Are they still grading your exam? I got a message from CBA telling me that my score will be released in the upcoming score release because apparently the Prometric I took the exam sent it after midnight of July 23rd. smh

Dylan, I hope so because I provided all the details to NASBA and they responded via email that my exam falls within the August 7th release window. Guess we will find out tomorrow evening.

Dylan, they told me the same thing. This sucks because now we have to wait an extra two weeks.

Next time I will just take it one day before the cutoff.

    Dood,

Apparently even if you took it the day before the cut off, it could still be late. NASBA told me AICPA received my exam from Prometric 3 days after I took exam. Smh.

The problem I have is why they didn’t notify us before the score release date that it’s late and will be included in this window’s release. With the technology we have, it shouldn’t be a problem.

No score, and we have it the 1 week mark as of now. I just emailed NASBA again.

Received confirmation from NASBA. Exam was uploaded 7.25 even though exam was finished on evening of 7.23. Therefore, will be part of the next score release. Unfortunately, it seems you need to take it at least 2 days prior to cut-off to make it in the score release window – this is a general rule not a hard fact.

Studied for 13 days and passed FAR without any previous knowledge of accounting. I am literally crying after I saw my score.

🥳 Congrats! How were you approved to take exams with no prior accounting education? What country allows that?

I think she meant to say she didnt major in accounting. I didn't major in accounting as well, my major was economics. I had to take accounting courses to be approved to take the exam.

I guess I should have directed my question to Joyceee. I want to hear what she says rather than speculate about her meaning of the phrase “no prior knowledge of accounting” The international students have different requirements and I am curious if this may offer some insight.

All, used the eyeball trick and can confirm I passed BEC. I am done with the CPA exam. This has been a brutal journey this past year. I have an MBA so that helped with BEC – it only took 2 weeks while the other exams took much longer. I only used Becker.

    My study strategy:
    1. Go through each lecture and take detailed notes in my book
    2. Go through the Skills Practice
    3. Go through each MCQ – if I got it wrong or wanted to revisit it, I would flag it
    4. Any MCQ that I got wrong I would write it down in my notebook
    5. Go through the Simulations
    6. 2 weeks before the exam I would do a high level review of each MCQ
    7. Week of the exam I would take up to 2 practice tests

Note – the above is the strategy I used for every exam but BEC. BEC I did not do any simulations and skipped a lot of the Skills Practice given the time crunch and comfort with the material.

My scores on FAR, AUD, and REG were in mid 80s.

    FAR – 12 weeks
    AUD – 8 weeks
    REG – 6 weeks
    BEC – 2 weeks

Best of luck on your journey.

    D
