Helpfulness of Ninja Notes & Audio

Hi everyone, I just wanted to speak to the usefulness of the Ninja Notes & Audio that Jeff made. I’ve been studying this whole summer (3 months with Becker), and finally got my NTS in the last month of the window. I set each exam up 6-7 days apart in August for all four sections. Anyway, the day before REG I started freaking out and purchased the notes. Useful, but not enough time to do the Ninja approach on them. For the next exams, I did the Ninja approach on the Ninja notes themselves before I actively took notes on the Becker material itself. I was especially scared for FAR, so I decided to purchase the audio as well. The audio was great because of the fact that you can listen in the car, when you jog, pretty much whenever! Even if you’re not actively listening, the material being played is more effective than listening to TSWIFT about never ever getting back together. Anyway, the materials here are excellent supplementary materials that really help you keep focused and look at the big picture of each section. I found it was really easy to get caught up in details, but for me it’s easier to learn something if I understand how it fits in the overall picture of the business/accounting world. My scores were as follows:

    R: 70

    A: 82

    F: 76

    B: 85

Everyone has a different preferred studying style, but I thought I’d share my appreciation for Jeff and this blog!

I thought this was going to be a “how useful are the ninja notes?” thread so I was going to link to the forum (https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-forum/forum/ninja-cpa-review) with feedback.

    Ha.

I appreciate the feedback and testimonial…congrats on being DONE!!

I read that we should re write the notes. I like the method I think it gets in better BUT how do you re write the notes without hurting your thumb and pointer finger from holding the pen!!!! What is your trick?

    ha … get a good pen 🙂

Some people also type it out … that's an option as well.

Since I've already explained how this exam has made me freaking nuts on another thread, I'll go all out and tell just exactly how crazy I really am! Once again, don't judge me. I know I need professional help and some serious medication.

Walgreen's sells these things called Gel Toe Protectors. You are supposed to put them over your toe if you have something funky on it. They have this gel stuff inside of them and they are cloth-like on the outside. When I write notes or re-write notes (I have 12 notebooks with just the BEC Ninja notes) I tend to press too hard and my hand starts to hurt. I also have a torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder and for some reason this helped. Anyway … I bought two of them, one for my index finger and one for my middle finger. They cushion your pen/pencil so you don't hurt quite so bad. They are about $6 each and they last two or three weeks if you are using them every day. I can't write a lot without them now.

I know I'm not wrapped tight and when this is all over with I'm going to get one of those really pretty white jackets with lots of buckles that make you hug yourself all day long. I'm looking forward to the room with the soft walls more than anything else. Oh and the meds. I'm really looking forward to the meds!
