NINJA Question –

When Jeff is talking about the 1973 Straightline sitting on blocks why does 1973 represent sum of years digits?

I’ve heard it a few times now and every time it bugs me more and more each time!

Because the car is salvage and SYD and SL take salvage value into account whereas DDB doesn't.

I'm confused why you choose to use 1973 to represent SYD? Does 1973 represent something or is it just an arbitrary year?

It was a quirky memory trigger to make you think of an old beater on blocks … the 1973 were digits … clearly it bombed 🙂

That's what I figured – 1973 was just arbitrarily used to represent an old rusted out car.
