Audit – did 12.5 hours of MCQs on Ninja. Completed 4 out of 6 chapters on Becker (maybe 25 to 30 hours of total work there) spit between watching videos and doing MCQs & simulations. I'm okay with my score considering the total time effort but I'll definitely be doing a lot more work for REG.

12/19/2019. 97 trending score—85 average. 69 on test. There was ABSOLUTELY no way to be prepared any better to this F… trash. PhD in business + 5 years experience TEACHING related topics + 2 months of FULL time preparation. About 30 questions on COSO + IT garbage based on the trash you could only guess, not learn or apply.
Conclusion: I will NEVER hire a CPA just because of the designation; Total disrespect to the intrinsic value of CPA… It is not a reflection of anything anymore…
Total waste of time.

Honestly felt unprepared for the MCQ, but that is probably because I started memorizing answers and not realizing it cause I did about 2,500 questions. Definitely learned quality over quantity and really understanding the question, answer, and why the other responses are wrong. While I still got a pretty good score and I do not think it is bad to memorize the answers, I got to the point where I was just content getting the right answer and not really knowing why the other ones were wrong.

I didn't save my FAR information, but I passed it in May with a 86. My trending and overall scores were comparable to my other tests, but this was before NINJA updated how it calculated its trending scores. I used Yaeger for my study materials and supplemented with NINJA. I read the entire Yaeger book and then hammered NINJA MCQ's. I supplemented with the NINJA study materials as needed. I highly recommend the Bob Monette's videos for FAR (Gov't and Pension especially) and AUD videos. I took the AICPA practice exams for each section a couple days before sitting for my tests. I heard a lot of people saw SIMS on their actual exams that were close to those in the practice exams. This never happened to me, but it was still good practice at working through the SIMS. I did a couple NINJA SIMS for FAR, but only focused on MCQ's for the other 3 sections.

My experience with the exams was this: you have to put in the time and make the tests a priority if you want to pass them. I started studying in March 2019 and sat for my last section in December 2019. I am married, have a 4-year old, and was working full-time during this. I was also job searching and was able to get a new job in September. My wife and I had a baby in October. I don't say this to toot my own horn; I say this to make the point that we are all busy–some busier than others for sure–but you've got to prioritize the exams if you're going to pass.

The NINJA Trending MCQ had me worried prior to the exam and made me think I was underprepared. Thankfully, it made me ramp up my studying and honestly, with the difficult questions could've been preparing me better. Only did about half the questions or maybe 1,000.
