I think they're great for all sections. I reviewed the notes in tandem with CPAExcel to relate the the notes and the subject material. Ignored CPAExcel and reviewed the notes 5 times through during the last 2 weeks while doing NINJA MCQ for all my sections. That was my winning formula.

I just got Ninja Notes for FAR late last week and, from what I've experienced so far, I highly recommend them. I'm using Gleim's textbook, lectures (well, only as needed), and MCQs to learn the fine details of the topics and then using Ninja Notes as a refresher and just as a secondary review since they're much broader. I'm going to finish my Gleim coursework then use the Ninja Notes and Ninja MCQs during my final week or so leading up to my exam in February.

I used them to give myself a knowledge base to work from (in the same way that other people read books/watch videos) before hammering out MCQs.

As you can probably guess from my sig, I can't recommend them highly enough.

Did you just use Ninja notes/MCQ for BEC? What was your process?

    Thanks.

Honestly, I did not find Ninja notes useful. I bought the entire Ninja package (test bank, notes, audio, video) which was a waste of money. I should have just bought ninja test bank, it is worth the price.

I took about 7 weeks to prepare for each section, except BEC. I decided to knock out all 4 sections in 2 windows, so BEC only got 5 weeks.

My process was to copy the ninja notes by hand to a notebook, then copy them again from the first notebook to a second, rewording as much as I could so I had to think about what I was writing. If I had time on days during the note-taking phase, I would do MCQs from the topic I took notes on, taking notes on any I got wrong.

After the second round of notes was finished, I did tons of MCQs and took detailed notes on the ones I got wrong so I understood why I was wrong. Even if it was a simple “RTFQ”. Mix in some sims for variety. If I needed to up the challenge, for calculation problems I'd cover the answers.

About 2 weeks before the real deal, I took a practice exam to get a feel for the pace I needed to work at – not to gauge my progress.

I listened to ninja audio during my drive to/from work. Mostly supplementary.

    Wombat.

So to clarify, you used Ninja Notes and Ninja MCQ only? You didn't have a review course? I'm asking because I have Becker and wondering if I should ditch it completely for your method. With me being in tax season, a family at home, and only five weeks to prepare, I just want to nail down a game plan.

    Thanks!
