CANT STOP THINKING ABOUT FAR

I cannot stop thinking about FAR. I took the exam on 12/09 and need to pass or else I lose REG. First testlet of MCQs weren’t hard and I felt like the 2nd testlet got harder. Half of the simulations were difficult and lengthy. I felt like 4 out of the 8 sims were doable. I’m hoping I can pull a 75. I’ve passed the last two exams I’ve taken with an 85 using NINJA and Becker. I’m just hoping I can leave this all behind me but knowing that this was my first try for FAR and it’s one of the more difficult exams is causing me to believe I failed. Anyone else feel horrible about the sims and end up passing?

    AUD - 68, 74, 85

    REG - 73, 85

    BEC - 63, 85

    FAR - 81

You will pass. I remember, I was sure that I failed, but somehow I got 78, 90% of my MCQs were gov. accounting and SIMS were horrible.

    FAR - 73, 78 (WileyCPAexcel 3,000+ MCQs, 50 SIMs)
    AUD - 73, 81 (WileyCPAexcel 3,000+ MCQs, 40 SIMs)
    BEC - 71, 71, 74, 84 (WileyCPAexcel 3,000+ MCQs, 10 SIMs)
    REG - 84 (WileyCPAexcel 2,000 MCQs, 15 SIMs)

    CA Ethics Exam - 94%

    NEVER GIVE UP.

I have the same feeling for FAR, I took it last week and I’m eagerly waiting my results in a couple days. Worst part is that I couldn’t even find my research question…first time this ever happened to me…hopefully we get some good news in 2 days!

    AUD - 82

    BEC - 79

    FAR - 73, 72

    REG - 77

If you feel good about the MCQs, got a harder 2nd testlet, and consider half the SIMs doable, then your chances are pretty good. Certainly better than mine, I couldn't get ANY of the SIMs other than the research -_-

What really scares me is failing and having to re-learn a LOT of stuff, because apparently 2020 is bringing many changes to the FAR exam. As if we don't have enough material already on our plate. Ugh, someone just kill me before I do it to myself…

I had the same exact feeling when I took REG on multiple occasions and failed each time. Hopefully you have different results

Feel exactly like you @MJ44. I took FAR 12/4 and I also cant stop thinking about the exam. I lose BEC if I don't pass and I will be a CPA if I do pass- so a lot on the line! But Lets keep Faith. Fingers crossed.

Marty, I dont think sims give you partial credit. Its full credit or no credit – that is what I was told

@Thunderlips absolutely not my friend. the only one that doesn't give partial credit is the research sim where you use utilize the authoritative literature. the rest of the sims each box is weighted differently based on its difficulty.

    FAR - 76

    AUD - 89

    BEC - 84

    REG - 86

Research sim doesn't? So If I got 3 out of 5 boxes correct, the whole thing is wrong?

    Shoot for the stars!

    FAR 88 04/19

    REG 95 07/19

    BEC 91 11/19

    AUD 88 12/19

If you got the first 3 out of 5, you will get a partial credit.

    FAR - 73, 78 (WileyCPAexcel 3,000+ MCQs, 50 SIMs)
    AUD - 73, 81 (WileyCPAexcel 3,000+ MCQs, 40 SIMs)

I am not convinced given this is what I was told in my CPA prep course. Jeff can you confirm?

I feel like the pass rates would be a lot lower if they didn't give partial credit lol

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 82
    FAR - 79
    REG - 86
    DONE

    FAR - PASSED 11/14
    AUD - TBD
    BEC - TBD
    REG - First take 2/16

This can also depend on the question type for example if adding or subtracting through a waterfall and one of the numbers is wrong which then impacts the final number to be wrong you would get no credit. That is what I am referencing not necessarily drop down through multiple choice type sims
