Whats everyones opinion on using Excel during the exam? Trying to figure out if its more efficient to utilize it or faster to just do hand calculations. Ive been using it pretty often while studying and love being able to organize the info, but not sure if its necessarily the fastest way on the actual exam.

I found it extremely helpful to use excel on the actual exam and used it when practicing multiple choice so I would be used to utilizing it during the exam. I also found it was efficient to set up formulas and plug answers to back into some of the answers.

I found it to be more useful than the calculator since it kept better track of things and I could play around with numbers more.. I'd highly recommend using it when needed. The only downfall for me was that I can get a little carried away with creating exciting excel formulas!!!! Talk about fun stuff, but just not during the exam xD

Are you guys talking about the little sad partially functional Excel within the test software of the actual Excel? I was told the actual Excel is not allowed and the one comes with the test is just not convenient enough to save time for me.

I tried it first in Becker and it absolutely sucks, so I didn't even open it during the test. I opened it once I was almost done with the test and was surprised how well it works compared to Becker one

@Praiseleader17 really? so the becker one is not a mimic of the real one? wew thats a relief cause I was so bummed that I had to use calculator instead of Excel, which I think its so primitive since who uses calculator anymore, even for accountants. Thanks for the info!

Yes, much better though not perfect. You can still use it for basic formulas and calculations

I used it a ton and was glad to have it, even if it was a stripped down version. The ability to keep all of the inputs on one sheet and do cell references along with basic math functions was a huge help. That was the way I practiced during my MCQ study sessions so it was nice to be able to replicate that experience come exam time.
