So when I took FAR recently, I think my first testlet was a medium, 2nd one was difficult and I ended up guessing on most of them, and the third testlet was back to a medium. I remember finishing the first teslet in about 50 mins, then going over 50 mins to finish the 2nd testlet becuase it was so hard. Then I think i only took 45-50 mins on the last testlet.

I left 1 hr and 20-30 mins for the SIMs, and I finished 30-45 mins early (I don’t remember exactly because it’s all kinda a blur now in terms of the timing….but I remember thinking “I still have so much time left?!), so I ended up double (and maybe triple) checking my sims….

Do you think I failed this exam?!!!! I am just worried because I finished so early. The other exams I have taken I finished only about 15 mins earlier to double check my work….Has anyone had the same situation? And how did it turn out?

AUD – 75 (lost credit), taking it again in January 2013.

    BEC – 76

    REG – 76

    FAR – ???

I am all about support on this forum, but cmon, this is a ridiculous thing to ask on a forum. No one here knows how you did especially if YOU dont know lol. We dont know the degree of your knowledge or the actual difficuluty of your exam. If you have been on this forum, you know how unpredictability of these things are……people think they passed, they didnt. People think, they failed, they get in the 90s. Might as well flip a coin.

If you gave it all you got, be patient and hope you passed. If not, its not the end of the world.

I finished in about 2 – 2.5 hours and I passed. I didn't feel overly confident, either. It's all about how much quality study time you put in. If you study the material effectively, you will pass.

    FAR - 85
    AUD - 86
    BEC - 84
    REG - 88

Hey there…I took FAR on 10/19/12 and passed with a 76. I was pretty confident going into the exam and I did very well on the MC questions. I flagged maybe 5 questions in each testlet but I knew that I probably got most of them correct. The sims were a different story. I didn't feel like my testlets got harder at all. They seemed pretty easy to me and I was freaking out. But honestly, if you used Becker and did all of their questions, I believe it prepares you very well. In fact I felt like I overstudied because I didn't get really any calculations on my FAR exam.

I started the sims with 2 hours to spare. Now I am not a ‘journal entry' type of gal and I absolutely hate them – hence why I work in tax. So of course I had 6 sims that required JEs and 1 research question sim. I filled in all the blanks but I know for a fact that i did NOT get any JE sim 100% correct. In fact, I don't believe that I got a lot of the amounts correct in the JEs. I was not confident at all. If I were to place a numerical score on the percentage that I got correct in the sims, I would say that I probably got 30-40% of the sims correct. The rest were more like educated guesses. That's how bad I believe I did on them. I left the exam with the 30 minutes to spare because I honestly thought I failed and there was no point in trying to think anymore.

So do I think you failed? It's hard to tell. I honestly believed 100% that I failed. In fact, I was already saved up money to take FAR again! LOL But don't worry if you had time left over – you more likely timed yourself well throughout the exam. Like I said, I had 30 minutes to spare because I sort of gave up on the sims…lol…and I found out i passed with a 76 (thank you Baby Jesus) the other day. So keep your head up – you probably did better than you think! 🙂

so I just checked my FAR score, and I passed!! 🙂 Thank you all for sharing your experiences with me! So one more test left for me (AUD). Any advice on how to study for that one? When I passed it last time it was in late 2010, so how much harder is it now compared to 2010 (with all the changes to the CPA section in 2011)?
