    Hi Everyone,

I’m struggling with FAR though other sections went well. I used a course material from a provider (that I used for other 3 sections) + a test bank from another provider. Though I think I nailed all the concepts, I still struggle nearing pass rate. The issue is that I always do very well in MCQs (Stronger than average per the report), but the SIMS are at the difficult level (I never saw these before in any of the SIMS provided by the two course provided). Does anyone recommend a course provider that I can buy after my last 3 attempt and that offer “difficult” SIMs that we usually see on the exam not just the MCQ-type SIMS? Needing your advise, for those who passed FAR on a difficult exam!

    Thanks,
    FAR Fighter

Well know I know what is meant by ” know how you learn”. I have spent plenty of money on CPA materials only to find that I am not interested in their style. So it will depend upon what you're looking for, Some have said Gleim has a good test bank.

I really liked the Wiley test bank for FAR. I found the questions (both MCQ and sims) to be much more difficult than Roger's. I like how Roger teaches the FAR material, but the Wiley test bank really helped me understand/apply the concepts.

Thank you for your reply. Do you know if Gleim's test bank include all the SIMS & TBSs of the original course or not??

    Thanks again!

Thank you for getting back to me ! I actually used Wiley, but the real exam seems to be “very creative” in my case. Not sure if that's because I do very well in MCQs ?

@FARFighter looks like we're at the same frustrating point in the process. I've used Wiley for the other 3 exams and passed but not by huge margins. I read the study guides, watched the videos AND took notes sometimes writing down notes verbatim from the study guides on difficult topics for all of the exams. I have mixed opinions about Wiley's testbank questions. I like the conceptual MCQs but some of the calculation MCQs are so difficult that the AICPA would never ask a question in the manner that Wiley asked it. I end up either not knowing exactly what they are asking me or spinning my wheels to back into the question. Either way is not good for learning or studying purposes. I'm really trying to avoid jumping from one prep course to another just to pass my final exam.

PDiddy2000, I feel your pain. I too have been in the prep course jump around. I went from wiley, to ninja, to surgent and now considering Roger. I know, I know all the coursed give you what you need to pass, but I guess I am still looking for that aha moment. I got that with Roger's free trail, but I am wonder will it last. I really don't want to spend anymore money. ( I know I won't ask my husband to spend anymore.) Let us know when you figure it out. I took a break since I got an extension on my nts. Tax season is extended, but not too busy so I'm going to put more time into study so when the testing resumes I am ready. Good luck.
