    Murphy’s Law sure did apply this morning to me.

    I got to the exam center & they were running behind so we weren’t allowed in until after 7:30am, mind you my exam was scheduled for 8:00am.

    I was the first one to sign in and when I went to get finger printed…the machine wasn’t working properly, she saw my name in the roster but couldn’t find my paperwork. Then when they had to reprint EVERYTHING again they signed me in and when I went to my computer, it didn’t work. They kept trying but to no avail. They had to call the global communications center to sort this out.

    Mind you again, my exam was supposed to start at 8am. They FINALLY get it up and running…could you imagine being me sitting there through all this going is this real? Am I really going to take this exam or what?

    Well, I did take it and it was just as awful as I had imagined. I didn’t think I did awful on the MCQ but I did think by testlet 3 they were a lot harder as there were more I had to go back to and some I had to guess on.

    As for the SIMS? Well that sealed my fate, they were AWFUL! I mean when I saw I just had to start guessing I mean I had to start just making things up. I sat there with 25 minutes left feeling so defeated because I knew there was nothing more I could do to make this better. I gave 150% but I am most certain I did not pass thanks to the simulations. I didn’t leave any completely blank, but I sure did make things up and guess.

    I am sad and depressed but I refuse to think about it anymore until scores come out because its over with and it was my first exam and I really did try my best. I am so burnt out and exhausted I don’t know how I will start AUD on Thursday.

    Happy friggen Monday 🙁

    I also took FAR today. I didn't think the MCQ were horrible, which is actually concerning to me from everything I read on here. There were several challenging questions as the exam progressed, but there weren't as many calculations as I anticipated. I lucked out by getting two research questions, though. I managed to get through the other SIMs, but some was guessing, unfortunately. I'm going to be counting down the days till September 10th.

    Passed all sections.

    I felt so lost on FAR it was almost funny. I guessed my a** off all the way through, MCQs and SIMs. Since I knew so little I got through the test quickly. The research question might as well have been written in Swahili. I couldn't get anywhere with it. I had like, an hour left over and didn't even go back to it because it was a waste of time. I was positive I had failed.

    When my score came and it was an 81, I was so stunned I could hardly move. That was in February and I still can't get over it.

    You might have passed. You really can't go by how you feel coming out of this test. Hopefully you will also be happily stunned when the scores came out.

    @lauriemarie- It's not over until you get that score. I was so certain I failed that I was shopping for a new review course (this was my 4th go around with FAR). I couldn't believe that I passed because my SIMS were soooo bad. Don't worry- you have a solid chance.

    I think this is my favorite thread right now…definitely makes me feel better hahaha.

    Memmy, what were your previous scores? This was my fourth go-round with FAR and I don't even know how to study it anymore since I have so many sets of notes. I am seriously about to lose my s**t with this exam….especially since I see people who guess though the exam and still pass.

    CPA Gods, I've put in the work! Just let me be free!!

    Still need 30 more credits, in basket weaving (gotta love new CA requirements)

    @hustlinhustlin,

    I think that's the hardest part of studying again is what to do with the notes. I am going to chuck them and start over. Since I failed miserably, I guess my notes need a make over. Maybe I am writing notes on irrelevant things. I am also redoing my flash cards too. I focused so much on the video's until I failed to utilize ALL the other study tools I have. I will be different now. Hang in there though…..

    @Hustlin-

    FAR was awful for me. I passed the others on the first try. It might be because I have a M.Acc., but I'm an auditor so I don't use accounting in my daily life. I didn't study for my first try at FAR (first exam taken) 44, 71 and 71. Yes, two 71s. I was about to lose my mind.

    @tncincy,

    That was my reaction too. I threw out all notes and started again from scratch. It built my confidence for the sections where I remembered many things, and made me realize that I wasn't well prepared for others. Then focus on your weak areas up to exam day. Sounds simple, but it's a ton of work. You'll pass.

    The responses to this have been so uplifting I can't thank you all enough!

    It has surely put my mind at ease as I wait patiently for September 10th to roll around and especially as I start to study now for Audit.

    Pass/Fail again, I gave it 150% and I can't be upset about that, though I am still praying I won't have to sit for this again.

    Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone else who took FAR with me this week…don't forget we are stronger for sitting and we CAN do this!
