Would you say the Becker software and MCQs & SIMS are a good example of whats coming on the exam? Easier? Harder?

    Depends.

They (the MCQ's) can be very similar, but not always.

The simulations are different though. The searches are harder, I think, and they can be more intricate than the one's I see in Becker.

I think Becker does a good job with the multiple choice questions. On all of my tests i have actually had some questions that were straight from the Becker multiple choice. I think with the simulations it is so so. I think Becker's simulations are easier then on the exam but everything on all my exams so far have been for the most part covered by Becker.

Becker MCQs are much more difficult than actual exam questions. I feel they choose many of the higher difficulty questions to better prepare you, but this is slightly misleading as the actual questions are much more straight forward. I made the mistake of spending way too much time on each difficult question(5-10 mins) to fully understand it, when I should have just answered it within 2 minutes and kept going. I feel as if the the questions are designed for you to score 85+ when all you need is a 75 to pass. If you're looking to score a 90, spend the time to understand every question, otherwise, just plow through the material.

    For FAR and Becker:

1.) MCQ's – Makes the FAR exam MCQ's a walk in the park. Becker definitely has much harder questions. If you can push through their MCQ's, understand them, and score well you will breeze through exam questions.

2.) SIMS – FAR exam SIMS are monstrous. Becker gives you many that are quite extensive, but to me it feels like a crapshoot. You might get lucky and get a simulation you're familiar with, but otherwise, you'll get a simulation on some small topic you can't remember from the top of your head. I scored WEAKER in both my Sims.

    FAR: 50, 76!
REG: 74... (ouch baby, very ouch), 76!
    AUD: 65, 91!?
    BEC: 80! Aaaand doneskies!

    May 2012 to August 2013. Can't believe it's over.

Becker MCQ=Harder than real deal, prepare you well and if you can understand why each is right/wrong you are in good shape. This is key in my opinion when it comes close to test time.

Becker SIMS=no experience with only have done their MCQs. When I did the recently released AICPA questions through becker website, the SIMS were probably a 6/10, where as real deal SIMS were probably 8-8.5/10. They give you a nice idea of what and how they can test things in the simulation format.

I think it is a great point to point out that at least in my opinion Becker's sims are just there to get you comfortable with various ways a sim could look. They also just help drill the core concepts even more. Like everyone says they are a crap shoot you might get ones you are good with and some you dont even know what they are asking.

Becker does an awesome job, both on the MCQs and the Sims in preparing you.
