Has anyone ever tried appealing their score? It looks like it is pointless, but I just hate not knowing exactly what I missed!

Zero appeals resulted in a new score in 2008. I looked into it myself after 74-74.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 76
    REG - 92

    Jeff,

I just think it is so unbelievable that we work so hard, pay so much money to prepare and have no way of know how we really do on an exam that means so much to our careers! I just wonder if other professions go thru the same things? I know that the CPA exam is suppose to be one of the hardest exams out there but the lack of feed back is unbelievable. I would feel so much better about this entire process if I knew that what was reported back was supported in some way! I really feel like we are flying blind. I guess it is the control freak in me that just wants to know something!

Yep. Zero transparency. Your score was your score because they said it was your score.

Very ironic, if you ask me.

actually with the CBT breakdown and all it is alot better then the old days………..go for the appeal you might win but you could just cram and retake it beg or end of Jan and pass…….you need to see your breakdown and from that you and judge if you want to appeal but you really need a reason to win if you do not know of a known issue that you can win with then I would just retake it b/c too long a wait …..it is like going to court in a way

Cowpatty, I understand what you are saying. However, I believe that your point is part of the problem, the process is set up to encourage us to shut up take what ever we are given without any proof. When I went to check out the process I was shocked. 1st you have to pay for the information, okay I can understand that. 2nd you have to wait up to 8 weeks, like you said you can cram and take it again in the time it could take to get thru the process. 3rd you are not allowed to bring any materials in to support any arguement. 4th there are no breaks allowed during the process. 5th they remind you that no one has ever had their score changed on appeal. I know I am just really bitter at this point but I just think something just does not sound right!!
