Hi all – 19 days out from FAR (7/31). My first test. I have one chapter left and I am reviewing with Roger. Any tips for how I should plan these next 19 days? I think I am going to get Ninja for extra material, but I'm just looking for how to structure my reviews. I plan to be completely through Roger Far review by the 17th, giving me a full 2 weeks to review. Thanks, and best of luck yo all!July 18, 2020 at 4:53 pm #3052479bmj2sParticipant

@ C I passed FAR with an 84 thanks to Roger. I think what helped me the most was the retaking of the MCQs along with some TBS here and there. I studied A TON for FAR. I probably took 80% of the MCQs twice. Good luck on your exam.
FYI – I passed AUD, BEC and FAR on the first try with Roger. I just took REG on 7/18 so now I am waiting for the score release and hopefully be done with this chapter in life. I'll be giving Roger a big shout out once I pass!July 28, 2020 at 2:59 am #3060447IvyGuest
Hey, I have been studying for FAR for 7 months, it’s because of this COVID situation. I have been fully drained out and I take practice tests everyday and I’m too harsh on myself. Recently I’m making silly mistakes on the practice tests which I feel it’s really not acceptable cause I have a month to go for FAR exam.. I’m really scared.. I don’t know what to do…July 28, 2020 at 8:27 am #3060483
Ivy, you need a break from mcq’s for a couple of days. Rewrite notes or watch videos- info needs time to sink in between sessions. Seven months is a long time to study, if there are areas in need of review write those notes first. Don’t panic, positive self talk matters! Encourage yourself and take pride in the time you have put into studying.July 29, 2020 at 6:39 am #3061023MalGuest
Hi all, just got my Becker materials and plan to use Ninja as well. This is my first time facing the CPA exam so I am pretty nervous, but trying to stay positive and trust my studying abilities! I start studying August 10th for FAR which I plan to take October 3rd (just submitted my application today). Any tips/advice will be appreciatedJuly 29, 2020 at 8:45 am #3061041CH89Participant
@Mal – That's great! I wish you the best of luck on your CPA Journey!
Given that FAR has a lot of information, I would definitely recommend spending a day each week doing a cumulative review. I felt that helped me greatly when I was studying for FAR. If you get stuck or have questions along the way, post them here, there are some awesome people with great minds that are beyond helpful. Good luck!July 31, 2020 at 4:06 am #3062037IvyGuestJuly 31, 2020 at 7:23 am #3062085bmj2sParticipant
I leave to take FAR in about 30 minutes. Haha, I sure hope it's not too bad.July 31, 2020 at 8:35 am #3062130
@Ivy FAR, is a typical CPA exam it has a lot of content and manages to test all topics. Do your best to cover all of the topics and build your weak areas while keeping your strong areas strong. Ask for help when you need it. You have plenty of time to start fresh and do a full pass on the material. Practice SIMs Take an AICPA practice exam to familiarize yourself with format and function of the exam. Build confidence by learning the material. Always ask for a calculator with the exam.
@bmj2s good luck! tell us how it went.
@C good luck today!July 31, 2020 at 10:56 am #3062235IvyGuest
@monikernc, Heyy thank you for your reply :), I’m also revising my notes. I noticed that my practice tests % range is between 75-86% And I got a 82% on my first mock. Am I in a good state in FAR ?? Most definitely I will keep revising and prep as much as I can.July 31, 2020 at 11:34 am #3062304August 3, 2020 at 5:26 pm #3065322August 25, 2020 at 8:09 pm #3087243
neglecting a business meeting for mock exam 1. i wonder about my priorities? retake september 9th . last time i got a 71. i’m more concerned about my understanding than scores on these. let’s do this.August 25, 2020 at 9:21 pm #3087348
Josh, you can do this! Missing a meeting to study is not a bad thing. You’ve got this! You have the rest of your life to go to meetings. Exams are brief by comparison.September 1, 2020 at 11:33 am #3092508September 1, 2020 at 12:26 pm #3092568
Don't delay working on the sims – they are such a chunk of the score and they help you nail concepts that come in the mcq's too. Work on whatever areas that score said are your weakest while holding onto your strengths. You've taken this exam before so you should be familiar with the material. Don't hold yourself back. You will be successful. Good luck.September 2, 2020 at 4:31 am #3093420
Took Far yesterday, I was feeling okay and yet anxious. I had 10 mins on the clock left, is it a concern? I really hope I clear this paper!September 2, 2020 at 9:27 am #3093519
@Ivy I hope you passed, too! As for time left? People pass all the time with time left on the clock. Hang tight! What will you do till scores are released?September 2, 2020 at 10:20 am #3093549
Hey @monikernc, I must thank you for giving me advice.. I rewrote my notes, it was definitely a boost and helpful to grasp everything! Till the score release.. I guess I’ll chill for a week : PSeptember 9, 2020 at 12:42 am #3099119
#FAR 1230 pm tomorrow mst for me. i probably won’t say anything til after except i realized i get to see score release after a month. i heard an elijah watts winner say he celebrated after an exam regardless to avoid burnout. see you all in #AUD next perhaps.September 9, 2020 at 10:06 am #3099305
@Josh today you do calm reviews to build confidence. Eat well, drink water, rest and relax. Do a sim or two, some mcq sets, no cramming, just reviewing what you know you know. Breathe. Ask for a calculator for the exam. You’ve got this! Go get it!September 9, 2020 at 3:17 pm #3099557
@Josh I am in mst in Northern Colorado – where are you? Good luck!!!September 9, 2020 at 11:38 pm #3099902

Cleared Far😆😆 moving on to Audit🔥September 15, 2020 at 12:22 pm #3104333
@Ivy I am so pleased to see you passed FAR!!!! Take your time with Audit. Understand it is a process and you have to know where you are in the process to answer questions correctly. Review the standards to understand how they are structured and where to find answers for research questions and SIMs during the exam. Every word counts in an audit questions. You can do it!!!September 15, 2020 at 7:49 pm #3104954TncincyParticipantSeptember 15, 2020 at 7:53 pm #3104963CH89Participant

Thanks. I had a few lectures for far and am doing well with the study. I thought why not get it while it's on sale. 1400 bucks is still a lot(there goes my new coach bag), but I can use the course until I pass. I am going to pass. I am a ninja but I printed my far notes and downloaded the audio. I am not doing mcq's yet. I was not doing good trying to piece meal parts together, so here I am with another course and really don't want to post anymore til I pass. I'll get over myself and get it done. My test center is closed until further notice because of covid, but I can't get a seat until mid October. I'm checking to see if there are other centers have seats…..Nothing close to me without going to another state.
