Hi, I took the far exam on Nov 1 and I am still waiting for my score. I know I did really bad because I didn’t even finish the last simulation and the 1st simulation was hard too. Overall, I know i wasn’t ready. When should I be expecting my score?

    thanks!

Your score should have been released in wave 1 as you sat for the exam prior to the cutoff date, November 7. In the event your score release was deferred to wave 2, you should be expecting it sometime around Dec 18-21+ depending on which state you are located in.

    AUD - 95, BEC - 89, FAR - 11/09, REG - 93

means you had a new sim or not enough ppl had your type of test to compare your scores to a standard

How do you study for these exams? I feel like I have no set strategy and can't get myself to study this boring material. Any suggestions?

    thanks!

    Hey Jeff,

I am planning on taking FAR in Feb, what day is the cutoff to still be included in Wave 1. Thanks, I love and appreciate the site, you make the wait tolerable. 🙂

    PKtoaCPA,

I can only recommend what works for me, but it depends on how people learn. I am studying with Becker by the way. I don't usually listen to the lectures, since I am more of a visual learner I seem to absorb it better through reading each section and taking notes. After I go through all of the sections in a lecture, I work all of the questions including supplemental. I usually score between 60-70 on each, and I read the explanations for each one that I miss. Then I wait until the next day, rework all of the questions, and read each explanation regardless of whether or not I got it right, taking notes on anything I feel I might forget. I also take notes on the questions that I missed. The important thing for me is just to be careful that I understand why each answer is right, instead of just memorizing the correct answer. Once I have covered all of the lectures, I give myself about a week to review each chapter, rework the questions, and review the sims (I only do those once since the sims are usually a shot in the dark anyway!). That is what has worked for me with BEC and AUD, but like I said, I think each person has to find their own system.

    Kent,

All I can say is “UGH!” I can't imagine having to wait that long ~ they should reimburse you for pain and suffering.

    PKtoaAPA,

I watch the lectures, do the related homework, review the topics & homework after I've completed three lectures, and I also have Wiley questions I go through on topics that I am weak in, which is just about everything. It is boring and I literally force myself to do it, but hopefully something is sinking in. I feel like I've put way more effort into this than REG.

I also have the Becker Final Review that I will use to do a lecture a day right before my exam, which is coming up. CRAP!
