I have to retake REG, and I have NTS for FAR.

I am off 2 weeks at Christmas (12/19 to 1/3)

I think I want to take FAR first, so I can really study hard for it from now until end of Jan, then restudy REG for Feb.

Someone (I forget who) recommended I do REG first right away, since I already took it once. problem is, I need to start studying FAR now, to be ready, which means study FAR, take a break to study and retake REG, then study FAR again.

Any ideas? I’d like to hear any positives/negatives of either way.

Thanks. you are all really helpful through this painful process.

    I'll Pass Eventually
    REG (67, 66), BEC (79), FAR (5/26/10), AUD (August 2010)

I like your idea of allocating most of your Time for FAR, FAR will need all the time it can get. Also, if you go back and look at REG one month from now or 3 months, you'll still have that “oh yeah…i remember this crap” and it should be easier to pick up and faster than the first time through. Ideally, yeah I would do REG right away, but since you have the NTS for FAR, your plan should work.

    good luck.

I was in the exact same situation as you. I failed Reg in August, took FAR in October and Reg again at the very end of October. Even though I studied for FAR in between I still brought my REG score up from a 74 to an 86 and I passed FAR. I think that you just have to commit to studying for FAR now and then go back through REG and really try to focus on where you were weak the last time off of the diagnostic report. Good luck!!

If I had it to do over again, I would have started with FAR for sure. Just my two cents. 🙂

I scheduled FAR and REG as you can see in my signature below. I decided to do FAR first, just study from now straight through, then take a month to re-prepare for REG. Then do AUD in April.

My advice is to go from most difficult to easiest. Take what you feel most weak in, and get that out of the way first. When you pass, it will give you confidence for the remaining sections.

I know some people like to get an easy notch on their belt to start off with. I'd rather get the harder sections out of the way.

I would do FAR first. You will need the most study time for that section!

FAR 74 (sat again 11/2009 and waiting for score, REG 91

    FAR- 70, 76 REG - 91 BEC - 80 AUD - 74, 85

    GA - NASBA state

glutenator, I think you have a good plan. FAR definitely includes the most material, so you will need more time to study FAR. Good luck and keep your head up! 🙂

    AUD 90 (May 08)…expires 11/30/09….

    REG 78 (Aug 08)

    BEC 81 (Nov 08)

    FAR 74 (May 09), 68 (Aug 09), waiting (11/30/09)…
