    Hi everyone!

I just wanted to gauge everyone’s opinion regarding possibly appealing my FAR score for this window. I got a 73. Had a passed I would of been completely finished but now, with this failing score, I have lost credit for Reg; the first test I passed. I know on NASBA’s website, it says historically no exam score has ever been overturned, but who knows if that’s the truth. Do you think it’s worth the minimium $600 gamble? Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated. I do not lose my second passed test till March of 2012 so i have time to retake FAR and REG.

    Thank again everybody!

somewhere in the CPA examination services/nasba bulletin it says the grading and distribution of grades goes thru a number of reviews and quality check and as such it unlikely any grades will change after an appeal. I know it sucks but you might want to take the time & $200 to focus on retaking the exam. That is just my 2 cents. Google cpa exam grade appeal and see if you find any useful comments on it.

I just got a 74 for AUD, which is also my last section. But my other scores are not expiring now. It took me a while to accept the fact, and I am going to study and retake the exam in the next window. If you really want to appeal the score, which I totally understand, my suggestion is to keep studying for FAR while appealing the score, so you will not “waste” a couple of months just waiting for the result. This is just my suggestion.

I think im just leaning towards retaking it. I think id rather bet on myself than the AICPA making a ground breaking appeal. Just sucks. Thank you.

You have no shot of winning an appeal with a 73. There are hundreds of people in the same boat you are who got 74s. I would focus on restudying and just pass the next two. Good luck!

Texas is not a NASBA state – so this may be a different circumstance – but since they are all graded by the AICPA, I believe it should be representative. It states that less than 0.1% of scores have historically been overturned. They do implement a quality review process; however, if someone is VERY close, it may be worth a shot, especially since credit for another section is at stake. I believe it was either $200 or $250 fee, but may be worth a challenge while studying…

I'm waiting on AUD or I lose FAR. If I get a 74 (God forbid) on AUD, I'm definitely appealing!

    FAR - 75 (11/09) LOST credit
    REG - 79 (06/10) LOST credit
    BEC - 73 (05/03/10), 83 01/14/11 LOST credit
    AUD - 74 (02/28/11) 74!!! (05/30/11)

    2014
    BEC - 77 (02/18/14)
    AUD - April
    REG - May
    FAR - Later
