Hi guys, just a quick question. I recently graduated college and I’m applying to the exam (first time). I completed the online application on NASBA’s website. So my question is do I just mail my character reference, social security verification, and transcript to NASBA? And after completing this, will my application be done and then I can schedule? Thanks for all the help

You should be able to find this information on the website for your state's Board of Accountancy. At the very least you can find a phone number for someone to call who can help you out with all this stuff. In my state, my transcripts have to be mailed directly to the Board from my universities. Your state may be different. Hope this helps!

I didn't want to start a new thread, but I have a question that relates to the header of this one. How long does it take to receive the NTS for first time applicants? I would like to register for all four exams right away, but of course I have to fit them all in the 6 month time frame. I already had my schools send in my transcripts a few weeks ago, but then decided I wouldnt' be prepared to take my first test in May so I held off on the application.

I am waiting on an NTS right now. They say if you elect to receive it via email, it should take 3 business days. Contact them if after 5 business days you haven't received it. If by mail, the time is longer obviously.

My luck, today is day 5 and I haven't gotten it, so looks like they'll be getting a call from me tomorrow. I don't have a ton of faith in NASBA, when I call them they can never find my name in the system, it takes my social security and birthday for them to locate my file. Great, the organization that is administering much of my cpa exam can't even find me in their own system… awesome

I just sent in my transcripts, character ref., and ss verification; as well as completely the online application. I called them like 10 minutes ago and they said I would receive my NTS as soon as they verify my application. (Which on their website said it can take 6 weeks) So I'm guessing DeepBreath is right with about 3 days by email. Wish i had more info but i am learning as i go.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get your candidate id. no. on CPAES OASIS after completing your application?

Also, since i've never done this before, is there a chance of not getting a good date to take the exam. I wanted to take it beginning of july but haven't got my NTS yet?

I wonder how long it truly takes to verify an application. I thought I read somewhere to call if you haven't received it in four weeks. I know automation continually changes the process though. (I'm just one of those paranoid, attempt to be in control type of person if you haven't noticed.)

Thanks! I'm in WI, but I'm sure it has to be relatively the same.
