I am writing this to find out my eligibility to give CPA examination in state of Virginia.

I have Bachelor of Engineering (4 years), Post Graduate diploma in Business Management (1 Year), Post graduate diploma in Computer applications (1 Year).

I also have around 12 years of experience as Software Engineer.

I already did Academic Evaluation of my Bachelor of Engineering (4 years) which says its equivalent to Bachelor of Science degree from United states.

I would like to know do I still need to take 120 semester hours of education, a baccalaureate or higher degree, and an accounting concentration or equivalent prior to taking any part of the CPA examination.

If its required , Can I do it while giving CPA exam for need to complete before giving CPA exam.

    Thanks

In Virginia right now you can sit for the exam with only 120hrs, but need 150 to obtain the license.

However, 24 hrs of accounting and 24 hrs of business courses is an exam requirement. Be sure to take at least one of the following: auditing, financial accounting, management accounting, and taxation. This is the accounting concentration equivalent.

Per the Becker website only 6 of the 24 business courses can be considered accounting classes. I think that means you'll need 48 hours total but at least 18hrs must be general business?

Sounds like you need 2 semesters of accounting and perhaps a business class or two.
