It used to be about 3 months. Anyone know if that’s changed? Thanks!

Hopefully it's smooth sailing from here. 4/3 is already 2 weeks after the last score release date, I can't imagine any days going forward having a particularly large concentration of applicants. 4/9 can't come soon enough.

@michael.walker6012 don't forget to factor in the “several week [wait]”(-trusty NYS rep) after they make you wait for 3+ months.

The lack of transparency at this point of the process is really disturbing. This is worse than going to the DMV.

Golfing–trying to come up with something positive from this whole mess..it is nice to know that they retained your spot at least. My approval is prior to yours and nothing

By the way, wednesdays are when they supposedly have an extra person there. So if the date doesnt change from yesterday, I think we will be waiting until Labor Day.

I wonder if the person that reviews CPA applications in NY reads these (or any) boards. Also, I wonder if there is a group of people complaining on the internet about how slow I do my job. These are the kinds of idle musings that stop me from thinking about when I'll get my license.

I saw someone mentioned that over the last 2 months they have issued roughly 250 license numbers each month. Considering how close the numbers are, and that the process from review to issuance only takes about 2 weeks, it seems reasonable that they are reviewing approximately that number of applications per month. Setting a blistering pace of 11 or 12 applications review per work day.

I just found out that I passed all 4 parts. i was able to sit for the exam with 135 credits. I was told from a number of peers that since i passed all 4 parts, they will not expire while I get the remaining credits. Is that correct? Or do i need to get my remaining credits before one of my passed exams expires?

I do not think your exams will ever expire, but you should confirm that yourself for sure.
My reading of the NYS website says if you pass them all in an 18 month window they are good for life, for NYS anyway.

Also, I wonder if there is a group of people complaining on the internet about how slow I do my job.
If you had a 3 month turn around with your work, you would not have a job.
only in muni/gov't does that fly and people get to keep their job and pension.

So I just passed, when i first registered with nasba 2 years ago I only sent in 120 credits, didn't have the others. To be clear now I have to send in my transcript with the final 30 credits to nasba first and they send it to NYS? Also- I got the 30 credits from another school- do I resend my first 120 also or just send in the new transcript?

    Nate-

You don't actually have to send your transcripts to NASBA, NYS will accept official transcripts without form 2's as long as they come directly from the schools. Based off my own experience I would think you'll be better off sending all your transcripts to NYS.

And congrats golfing, glad everything worked out in a somewhat reasonable time frame (by NYS standards).

Do not rely on nasba to process and submit your transcripts. It added two months to my wait because the woman kept telling me they had everything over and over and was wrong each time. Finally spoke to her supervisor and he took care of it, and said she was new to processing nys. A woman at nys even told me at one point that numerous candidates were having issues with this woman. So those two months, plus the 4 months it take nys, it's going to take almost as long as it did for me to actually study and take the test as it will for me to get my actual license processed.
