It used to be about 3 months. Anyone know if that’s changed? Thanks!

I just passed my last exam and I send in my license application form 1 and a check to NY today, my employer will be sending in the form 4B for my experience verification. I was wondering should I submit another copy of my transcripts to NSABA for the 150 credit verification or should I send it direcrtly to NYS?

@CPAtang I thought you send the form 1 initially, before you sit for the exam? I sent mine like 4+ years ago and I just cleared all 4 parts. I am going to call them to make sure they still have them on file.

@CPAtang, I reached out to NASBA and had them send my education to NY. They sent it pretty quickyly. Probably quicker than my school would have taken.

@eltoromodesto- I think you have to send in your completed form 1 with the application fee after you passed all parts.

@r00shine- I sent my transcripts before I graduated so I didn’t meet the education requirement back then. So I think I have to sent them an updated transcripts to complete the education requirement part. Idk how this really work honestly I just requested my schools to sent in another copy of it to NASBA cause online it doesn’t give me an option to sent it directly to NYS.

I feel bad for all that just passed their exam this quarter. This is only going to get worse throughout the summer. I have a possible promotion depending on them processing my app that I sent in 4 (!!!) months ago.

And as previously mentioned…hound NASBA for the education until you get a firm answer or proof that it was sent. I would even ask for a postage receipt or something. Do this right away too. NASBA sending my education is what delayed my application by over a month. Not sure if you can cut NASBA out of this process, but that's worth looking into as well.

And James Franklin at NASBA is excellent. He helped me so much throughout the process and with the education requirements since I was short the 150. I would ask for him if you run into any problems or feel like you are getting the runaround.

Agreed. Talk to james franklin. Biggerstaff didnt really give me the runaround. She just kept saying everything was taken care of when it wasnt. I dont think you need nasba at all. I think your schools can send transcripts directly to nys.

I went on my school websites yesterday and ordered my transcripts. Two of them let me upload Form 2 to go along with it which was nice. It kind of sucks that I'm sending in my application right after a score release, but I don't hit my one year experience till next week.

Like others have said, I'd use whatever options are available to have your education sent to NYS. Seems they don't have it together at NASBA and I don't want to add on to an already long process.

My favorite part about nasba is that when you call, its a minimum wait of 45 minutes. One time I was on hold for an hour and when they said I was next in line, it just stopped saying anything and I never got through.

Looks like the only person at the NYS OP Unit 3 responsible for processing and approving applications is on vacation.

I'm sorry I should have been more clear, I was just assuming that. Based off of everything I've read in this thread so far, I'm assuming there's a single person approving these applications and that lone person is on vacation considering the application date hasn't changed.

So to clarify you don't have to send form 2 if you requests the transcript right from the school(s)?

    Thanks!
