Has anyone successfully had their state board accept credits from UC San Diego Extension? I called my state board (South Carolina) and verified that they would accept a 3 credit course from there as my final 3 credits.

Now after completing the course and submitting my application for licensure, they are saying they usually don’t accept credits from that school because “the transcripts do not show semester or quarter hours.” What? I am SO ready to be done with this stupid process, and kicking myself for not asking them to send me written verification that the course would be accepted.

Continuing education classes, which include UC extension programs, are open to the general public and unaccredited. Even lower standards than a community college, which is fully accredited. But of course they'll market it as an official college course, and charge an arm and a leg for it.
