Should I start REG next?

So I retook BEC today and will not find out my score for another 19 days. From what I have found online, it says if you take it before FEB 28th you will get it March 8th. How long after you take a part do you wait to start studying for another part? Do you wait for your score to come back or just start the next part? My first time with BEC I took it the second to last day of the quarter so the turnaround time was quick. I feel like going into the tax section now because I am currently taking two tax classes so maybe it can help me with the topics. Is it more conceptual or application base? Sorry if this is a little wordy but appreciate all replies.

All depends on your schedule. Have you passed any exams and the clock is ticking? Sounds like you're at a good spot to start opening the book and studying REG while taking tax classes, I think that would help immensely.

To each their own though. Some people continue to study for a section even after they've taken an exam, which to me sounds awful. Some people can't focus on a new section until they know their score of an exam they just took. Depends on your time window.

    FAR - 80 (4/1/2019)

    BEC - 82 (9/7/2019)

    AUD - 81 (11/23/2019)

    REG - 94 (3/9/2020)

@Icarito it was my 2nd CPA exam ever taken. Failed BEC in Q3 of 2019 and ran out of time in Q4. I do not have any parts passed. But see that you are studying for REG now how is it?

For me, every exam is so different. FAR is “the one” you need to gut out to be able to be a CPA. A lot of the topics really helped me understand much of the day-to-day real life accounting in practice. AUD is a necessary evil and terribly boring, but it was also sort of interesting at the same time.. BEC was more enjoyable than the other (as much as studying can be). REG (I work in tax) is enjoyable to me and applicable to my career, however it is very frustrating on the wording of the questions. BLaw may be the worst topic in any of the 4 sections.

I think you should at least open the REG book, start getting familiar with the different topics, maybe read and take some notes as you wait for your BEC score. Good luck.
