While I’m in limbo waiting on scores, I figure I might knock out the ethics exam this week. But I’m a little confused by the options on the site. There is text, online for licensure, and just online. Does anyone know what the differences are? I just want to make sure I get the right one.

Before anyone asks, I am definitely in a state that requires this (Illinois). I got the link for the course directly from the Board’s website.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi there,
I ordered mine (I am IL too!). I ordered the book…but now I wish I would have ordered the Online version.

The book is basically a paperback textbook. There is a test code on the inside. Ordering the materials is basically like ordering the test as well, from what I gather. I haven't taken it just yet. I am still recovering from my brutal FAR experience from yesterday. I hope to take it before Christmas.

According to a coworker of mine, the PDF online version allows you to search a bit easier (as opposed to a physical book). If I could order again, I would do the Online 2017 (for licensure).

Welllll that was about the easiest thing I've ever done. But at least it's one less thing to hold my certificate if I ever pass the real exam.

Hi Jennifer, Great! you made it. Am thinking to take the Ethics exam as well, what do you advise me? How is your preparation strategy? Thank you!

If you're doing the AICPA ethics exam, then get the PDF book and print out the exam in the back. Then go through the book using Ctrl + F to figure out the answers. I circled all of the answers, just hoping they would be on the actual exam. Then when I went to the exam, it was exactly what I had printed out from the back of the book. Used my previously discovered answers and was done. Total time about one hour.

Glad that you passed your ethics exam. I was wondering where did you get the PDF version of the book? I bought the online course (for licensure) and started today but I only watch videos and I don't see the option to download the PDF book. Please let me know where did you find it. Thanks!

I can’t see it on my phone, but when you’re in the course there was an option for like resources or something, and in there was a student manual or something similar. That was the book PDF.

I'm waiting on my results this Tuesday. I'll do the ethics if I find out I passed. Thanks for the info.

Big day for you next week! My fingers are crossed. Let us know how it goes.

As a Canadian CA we have a reciprocity agreement where we only have to write the IQEX (essentially the REG) to get the CPA. Im waiting on results for that before I write ethics. If I fail, I don't think I'll rewrite, so no point in me doing ethics until I know. I'll also be licensing with Illinois 🙂
