ParticipantThought I would NEVER get to post here!
I was licensed in TN in 2018, knew I would be moving to California completed the additional classes I needed before moving.
I applied in August. Received confirmation 8/30/2018 application received.
Moved in September, sent form to former employer for experience verification(took 2 months for former employer to complete because of the detail-their reason). Meanwhile, had fingerprints completed; sent form to TN to verify the person completing my experience was a CPA in TN.
Was notified that my experience as an auditor for 7 years with the state of TN was deficient in one line item to get a CPA with attest privilege (wtf!).
There was a lull in communication from CBA. I contacted CBA and was told that I had to change my status application request by email to a CPA without attest experience to go forward(December 2018).
Notified 1/19/2018 that I was approved to be licensed.
Today, March 01, 2019, I received my California CPA license number! Yay! So more than 6 months.March 4, 2019 at 4:00 pm #2248323Todd

Also was this the first email you’ve gotten from them on the status of your application? I’ve yet to receive any emails from them unless they’re going to my spam but they just cashed my check today.

And you've been sending emails to licensinginfo@cba.ca.gov correct?

ParticipantI passed the exams in 2017, but had to take extra classes to get the 150 credits for the license. I had the school send my updated transcripts directly to the cba at the end of December. I also had my boss mail my work experience paperwork in 2017. Before I sent my application and $250 I made sure all boxes were checked off so there wouldn't be any hiccups in the application process. I took the ethics exam beginning of January and I went to the police station for the live scan, which I mailed separately to the cba. I ended up mailing my criminal background check paperwork with my application and $250 check.

ParticipantI am planning to complete the accounting ethics course through UCLA or UCSD. However, the course is 4 quarter units which are equivalent to 2.66 semester credit. Do i need 0.34 more credits???
March 25, 2019 at 10:55 am #2281209William
Participant@Mak – The 4 quarter units satisfies the accounting ethics requirement. I believe it is an either/or scenario. I took the course through UCSD and it was go at your own pace. So depending on your schedule, you could complete everything in a few weeks, then just wait for them to post grades.
